Escape From Planet Earth! by saintchristopher777
An arcade-y space shooter where you help earthlings escape from an alien invasion and certain doom!

Welcome, Commander!
Planet Earth is under attack from vile Aliens, and we must evacuate as many personnel through the wormhole as possible (yes, we have a wormhole - very convenient, I know).
You will protect the evacuation cruisers while they load civilians by piloting the advanced HERCULES defense platform.
Every 10 seconds a shuttle from earth will deliver its passengers.
Use the MOUSE to orbit around the cruiser dock.
Press SPACE when you are ready to open the wormhole and evacuate the cruiser. Once the wormhole closes the next cruiser will arrive to begin taking on crew.
You will earn credits for each passenger evacuated, and can spend them on HERCULES upgrades after each cruiser is wormholed away.
If you, or any cruisers are destroyed, it's over! Good luck, Commander!
TAB = Menu
MOUSE = Move
SPACE = Wormhole
This was supposed to be a Compo entry, but a hurricane decided to knock out internet for most of Saturday, and I'm a hack programmer without the stack overflow crutch, so here we are Jam! (Excuses, excuses) :-)

Really cool game 👍👍
Very nice how there are multiple variables to keep track of while trying to shoot down the aliens. Well done!
@jirrev lol, yeah, I did a dumb and forgot to scale the canvas! :-P
@denvil Good idea!
@skel3ton lol, yeah, kicking myself for not putting it in the middle! That plus a camera zoom out feature would have been prime changes. But, y'know, jam timecrunch :-)
@crwohlers Agree - same excuse really tho - very little time for playtesting and balancing!
Do wish there was a bit more control over shooting, or if not, that the game had a bit more action from the start
The graphics are functional, as is the sound. Good job!
