you've incorporated the theme in a nice way! :) love the art, i would probably rebalance cards or smth to make fights quicker - it takes quite some time to take down enemy's base.

I really like this! There are quite a few stats implemented, but they are very simple and easy to understand. I like the art direction, and the diversity in the units. I do wish there were sound effects, but that's about it! Great work!

Interesting strategy game! However in the start it's pretty hard to identify enemy's unit type

Lovely use of the theme, although the UI seems scaled weirdly on ultrawide screens and I can't seem to change that which made it so I couldn't fully see all the elements.

But still loved the art-style although I immediately noticed the diagonal pixels hehe, a small nit-pick in an otherwise good game!

Matched the theme really well. I like these types of games. I would like to see if you imagined different types of enemy AI.

Very nice! My only complaint is that the types don't really seem to matter - it's hard to strategize around them when they're essentially random. I like the artwork!

not gonna lie this was very very fun. Like the fact that you cant just swarm the opponet with cheap conscripts.
Only problem i had is that there were no sfx but i get it, time constraints. Didnt encouter any bugs, and maybe some sprites could be fixed up so that they dont look too similar. Overall a pretty FUN game which is the most important thing here

The game is well made and is an interesting interpretation of the theme for sure, I quite liked it.

I was however a little bit overwhelmed with amount of information on the cards, and to be honest the difficulty wasn't very high (which is probably good for a jam game), so I didn't really have to bother to understand the cards, I felt like I cheesed the game a little bit by saving up some money at the start, spamming units in one "lane" and then just pumping out stuff at random, whatever I can afford in this same lane, the AI didn't respond to this at all and was crushed in seconds. I'm a big fan of coherence and consistent visual language, but I'm also a big fan of the language being easy to undestand, I feel like here it was a little to far towards being coherent (everything is bluish) instead of being clear, this coupled with the amount of information on the cards meant that the cards formed a blue blob for me. I'm also not sure what affected my amounts of money earned or how the base defenses worked (seems they shoot only once and then the base is open for attacks?)

That being said, the game was fun to play anyway, which is the most important factor I think. I would love to see it with the strategy elements fleshed out more (or maybe with my cheesy tactics not being available, so I would have to play for real :D). The artsytle, while of course simple, is fitting the game very well, it gives a very old-school strategy feeling and vibe, that I enjoy very much. I also see many, many paths that the game could go forward with, especially with the recent raise in popularity of auto-battlers. Enjoyed the experience, thanks :)

Cheers!

This is maybe the only game i played which is not stressing despite the theme. Really good theme use. Also its really good to have an ingame tutorial which we can easily read. Overall Good Job!

Really good game, with strong realisation. I won my first game but I didn't really use strategy to achieve this goal. Anyway, Impressive work and one of best game i've tried for this LD

I definitely agree with others that this was practically a break from the high-stress games others (including myself tbh lol) created, which was awesome! And you really got this together well  I do also agree that the game seems quite random and like a war of attrition against the enemy, really, as it seemed like I slowly just overwhelmed them with units. I'm not sure if this was just the way mine worked out or how it's balanced, but when balance is the only thing I have to say that's less than stellar, that's a fantastic place to be after a weekend! 🥳
