À la carte by Steing

À la carte is a game about cooking and experimenting. You only have 10 seconds in which you recieve new ingredients and create any dish that could fill a client's belly. But you won't get away just by putting tomatoes in the oven and serve them, you will have to try new things, and come up with more exciting recipies ! Unlock more cooking stations, and ingredients by scoring and see how far you can go without serving more than one "Plat douteux" (dubious food)
Controls: - Use your mouse/finger to drag n drop ingredient in differents stations - Use button above station to cook ingredients in it - drag n drop your dish into the delivery space (the green one on the right) before the 10 seconds chrono end
NEW VERSION: UX & UI improvement, no content added except a tutorial screen

If every dish in that collection exists, that's a crazy amount of content. Like the artstyle.
My critique would be that game over comes to fast. That kind of keeps you from exploring options since you don't want to start over.
I also encountered the same bug as @kromeboy when trying playing a restarted game.
However I really like the concept and think there's a lot of potential here, just needs a bit explaining and feedback to the player!
A small tutorial on what to do or an image showing what our clients want to eat could be nice for a post jam version.
Cool game anyway !
To everyone confused, when you put the ingredients in the oven/stove, click the blue capsule button above to start cooking. That took me a while to figure out, cause I though it was a progress bar at first lol.
The music and art were great too, a simplistic core idea done well!
I do think the concept though may have been too complicated for the time constraints of a game jam.
I can already see a lot of people saying that there were frustrations with feeling punished for trying to experiment, or not quite understanding how the side worked, and dying too fast. I can echo them but not provide much more than that.
The game though really does feel like it could be something reallllly cool if it were developed more.
I think if there was just a waiter that would grab the "best" item available, instead of making us put our desired item in the slot, it could add a level of hilarity/frustration(for those who can make it further into the game) and take some of the stress off.
Knowing that I had to make increasingly complicated things, but having no feedback, was another struggling point of mine - not sure if that was mentioned at all.
THAT BEING SAID, this was a COMPLICATED idea, you put in A LOT of content. The problem is with balancing, which is always a struggle in a game jam because you have limited time and, more importantly, limited time for feedback.
It would be really cool to see what could be done with this game given more time.
Thank you for the experience. =)
