Police Mayhem by WFMG
Police Mayhem (working title) is an arcadey game where you play as a police officer in a fictional Swedish location. I want to keep working on this, but I didn't have time to implement the theme-relevant part, which was that every 10 seconds, a new criminal commits a crime and tries to escape the island. You have to catch them and send them to jail. The most fun part right now is driving around and hitting trees and street lights. Probably works better in the desktop build. Also, sometimes car does SPOOKY FLOAT on HALLOOOWWEEEEEEEN! OOO OoOoOOOOOOOoooooooOOoOOOOOOO.... Spooky! :fearful: Enjoy.
About 11 dev hours on this so far.
Here is my itch io link since you can't seem to access the dedicated download link yet: https://helmersoft.itch.io/police-mayhem
The web build didn't work, but it's worth downloading this one. I was having fun playing it when the level was just a plane.
Controls:
Spacebar is gas pedal
A/D to steer
S to brake
CTRL+R to respawn

Note: I met all the requirements for the Compo, but I don't wanna share my source code since I'll sell this game on Steam eventually. I actually wrote clean code. Because of this, I submit my game as a jam game.

I would love to see more content for this like other cars etc but I know that care AI is a really big topic ;)
If you do something like this in a future Jam just try to make a little more conten and some Check points this would immediatly create goal for the game.
I would love to see a complete version of this project.
Even if you just had a more complete version of the game that didn't follow the theme, but added more sandbox-like elements? Heck yeah I'd play that.
Great job!
Actually, I didn't find any murderers (or whomever I was supposed to catch) but I liked striking trees and poles. By the way did anyone manage to get to the other side of a river? :)
