Kerberos by lcarpentier

[raw]
made by lcarpentier for LD33 (COMPO)
Hades Trump left hell to run for president and forgot to lock the doors!

Play as Kerberos, the mighty hellhound, half wolf, half bulldog, half corgi and use all of your three heads to keep souls from escaping.

Lateral heads can bite and the central one can shoot a fireball.

Use your mouse to control the hound, F and H keys to grab a bite and G to throw a fireball.

Fireball score 20% less points than bites.

The sooner you catch a soul, the more points you collect.

Made with Construct 2 (free version). I had no prior experience with it and wanted to check by myself what I could achieve with just youtube tutorials and visual programming.

Other tools include Hexels and Paint.net for the art

All sound effect are hand-made. Well, mouth made. Software: audacity.

I love the pixel art. Kudos. 1350 points. I'm not so great.
I never was able to bite the head off of a soul- which I tried to do and I guess should of just stuck with the demon fire ball move thing. ;)

Haha, second LD game with Trump so far. That guy is pure inspiration.

The game was quite hard to control. If you choose to take it further, I'd focus on the controls, so that they're as smooth and fun as possible. Maybe add a bit of momentum. And give the heads a bit more range.

But come on, considering you had no prior experience with the engine, this is amazing.

The controls were a bit difficult to master, but it was interesting

Any game bashing Trump is good in my book, and the fact that you play as Hades Trump's dog is hilarious.

I found the controls to be very finicky, but that's mostly because I am using a touchpad. Having to constantly click is really difficult.

Anyway, congrats on your entry!

I wanted to stop them just because the Wheeee! sound they make when they pass you gets quite annoying. Though I suppose that could be seen as a brilliant bit of game design :)

Wheeeeeeeee!

This was enjoyable to play -- the wheee sounds are hilarious :)

Perhaps it would've been nicer if the waves were a bit shorter, for more variety.

I accidentally tried to go on the boat when it showed up, and I got stuck outside the level... Needless to say, I think the souls like me more than they should. Weeee!

It's hard to focus we three head that enthusiasts ! :p

Doesn't work for me with firefox but it's ok on chrome. And where is the woodman you promise ? ;)

The control scheme felt pretty odd, and I wish there was a bit more variety. It's bold of you use an unfamiliar engine.

Pretty fun, though most of the game (ending phase spams a bit more souls) is pretty easy as standing in the top center allows you to be in range for most souls without moving much. Nice job, like the three heads/three buttons concept. And hilarious sound on capture. :D

Interesting game (lol). I thought it was kinda weird how you could just stand at the door and block a large portion of soul traffic if you were positioned correctly (at least until the boat showed up). Also I found the head biting to be a bit difficult to use, but I guess maybe that's the point?

The audio and graphics were nice though. Congrats on the entry!

Cool.

Gameplay wise, my brain couldn't tell which button needed to be pressed (idiocy on my part), so I began just spamming F, G and H, which then turned the game into a kind of endurance test to see how long I could spam :)

Just a lazy git, I am.

Interesting idea, I felt the control scheme could be improved though - it felt a bit unnatural for some reason. I like the player sprite :3
