Zombie Bomb 10 by Sparkinex

[raw]
made by Sparkinex for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

You've been thrown into an arena with endless zombies and no hope, but don't go down without a fight. Every 10 seconds a bomb spawns in the middle of the arena. Make sure you're prepared to use your force field to protect yourself.

If you are having trouble loading the game I have added it in Itch.io as well. Recommended to play in fullscreen.

Cool concept! At first was thinking this is a bit easy...then realized I didn't have a force field ready to go. Great base if you wanted to develop this idea further!

Cool game! But I'm too bad playing it, I always forget to activate the "force field" (if I have one xD xD)

Loved the ZOmbie models. The Bomb countdown was terrifying. GG

Took a couple of tires to load the game but worked well when it finally did. Nice game.

I'm liking the art and idea here. Animations seem great! I feel like the force field should be automatic and maybe injure the zombies but you just collect the resources for it but either way it definitely keeps the intensity going! I appreciated the audio cue so I knew when to be ready!

Very well done! The best zombie model I've seen all jam!

I played this through a number of times and I enjoyed it, there was enough going on to bring me back in for another round, and I enjoyed how goofy it was. I appreciated the audio cues on the countdown. Some hopefully constructive feedback: the mouse sensitivity was too high for me personally, and with the camera rotation style I found things a bit awkward. I felt that something should happen to the zombies when the bomb went off, not sure what. I couldn't figure out the hitboxes on the zombies so dying seemed a bit random.

We had similar ideas for our games but went in slightly different directions. Great minds think alike! :P

The graphics and animations are really good. and the audio cues did their job well. If i were to nitpick, it would be the camera rotation felt a bit stiff. Other than that, a very solid entry! Great work!

It always felt satisfying putting up the shield just in time! Enemy variants and having more audio/visual feedback when the player takes and deals damage would go a long way but we all know how hard it is cramming everything into the weekend. It looks as if this might be your first LD game, you've got a great start here - keep going!

Very good concept! the core mechanism is solid and it is very fun to play if you can optimize the shooting experience a little bit.
I think there can be more bullets? the mag can increase a little bit and the collectable bullets could also add a little bit.
and also my camera can only move horizontally. idk if that's a bug but it is very uncomfortable for a shooter game.

Nice satisfying simple gameplay loop with super solid implementation of the theme. Good entry!
