Höpelö the Frenzy Cat by Sisusakari

[raw]
made by Sisusakari for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

Höpelö the frenzy cat is always a bit hungry. It gets totally crazy if you don’t feed it. Every 10 seconds cat will get more hungry-angry and lose control bit by bit.

Beware of it’s insane moves if it don’t get chicken legs. Collect the magic star to get to another level.

Too real! Great game and idea. I'd personally make the spikes stand out from the background so we know they hurt the cat :)

I love the charm of the cat sprite and level backgrounds! The theme idea is fun, though the levels were short enough that I was able to complete up to level 4 without it going into effect, or grabbing any chicken legs. I wish it was a bit longer, but I like what you put together considering the jam's restrictions! Nice work!

Nice visuals but you could make obstacles that can harm you little more noticeable. Good job!

I liked how you incorporated the theme, and how the change in behaviour in the cat can be both an bostacle and an advantage. I also liked the artstyle a lot! Well done!

Nice platformer. I liked the breakables. Shame there weren't more.
The spikes weren't obviously spikes which confused me at at first.

Great platformer, really creative twist on the "timer" interpretation of the theme where you don't just fail but go into a *frenzy* (super funny with the cat being hangry) :D The backgrounds and level geometry is beautiful, and the cat as well! Like some other commenters I had difficulty telling where the spikes were, maybe some brighter line inside like with the big spikes could have helped. Also couldn't find a way to quit without pressing alt+F4, might want to support using escape. The base music is chill as well and has a good contrast to the frenzy music!

I really like the character controller enough that I wanted to do a bit of speedrunning, managed to get 37.2s (glitchless) and 20.5s (double jump glitch\*) :D All in all I had a great time!

\* If you hit jump twice really fast you get two jumps worth of speed.

Liked the game! The mechanics of breaking dishes is very cool! The voice acting of the cat is excellent. Difficulties were only with the understanding of dangerous objects, because they did not stand out against the general background (except for their angular shape). Good job! =^.^=

Nice idea! It was sometimes hard to tell where collision in a level was, like I would bump into a cabinet's side far away from the actual cabinet art, and as other people have mentioned, it was also hard to tell what was dangerous to touch in a level. I also wasn't sure what frenzy was supposed to do. There was a level where I couldn't advance at first, and I figured I was supposed to let the cat get frenzied first and then move, which I thought was a really cool idea, but then when I hit the frenzied state, I just kind of slowly drifted backwards into a spike.
