Stable Instability by TopHat Bolt

[raw]
made by TopHat Bolt for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

Every 10 seconds a random event will occur. It can drastically change your perception, or even make you behave differently. Try to complete as many levels as possible while running through random chaos. Good luck!

I like the concept of changing rules every 10 seconds, though two different times it seemed to get stuck on the "click and drag to move" mode, never changing the rule again after (until I restarted the game).

The standard WSAD movement acceleration felt a little hard to control for me, I'm not sure if that was the intent. Moving in tiny increments was okay, and so was moving long distances, but trying to move exactly 1-2 "tiles" felt like running on ice.

The idea sounds very interesting, and I would like to play it. Could you possibly link a WebGL or Linux-Runnable version?

Pretty cool game. I like the artstyle it is simple and nice. It give the game the right vibes. The music never got boring i cloud play that game for hours. I liked the idea of changing concept and theme every ten seconds alot. At the end though it seemd that the concept or theme would not change after ten seconds anymore. It helped a lot that there was a box on the left that told me what concept is on the Char. But it did not reset in the menu do not know if that was planned or not. Deffinetly a very good game.

Loved the graphics, giving me VVVVVV vibes. I also had some issues with the click and drag mode, the hitbox seems to be really small. Good concept in general!

That game was very fun. I think we had a similar idea. Nicely done!

I like the visuals and the actual concept of the game, the different modes are actually pretty neat! Although the biggest gripe I have is the basic platforming mode not really working at all. Small movements are difficult to do with it which is in an issue when the stages require somewhat precise platforming. Changing either of the two to fit the other would be a lot better, more open stages or an easier to control character.

Luckily the other modes don't have any issues like this, they're pretty fun to play with. Conceptually I like the game a lot!

Like the concept and love the CTR TV look and feel. I was having some issues with the control sensitivity, it was freezing on me. Could just be me. But really enjoyed it when I was able to get the character moved. Especially like the dye animation.

Nice art style with the curved screen look. Gives the feeling, of playing an old arcade game.

Mixing 3 different control schemes in a single game is an interesting idea. It would have been better if level design was done with all the control schemes in mind. Some levels were too hard to beat with the WASD & gravity controls and it seemed almost impossible.

The graphics is really cool! I like the gold and red color palette.

I really liked the art style! I was a little confused by the changes in movement controls though. I spent most of the game in what appears to be top-down mode, but then I got to a change where the mouse cursor appeared in the window and I couldn't figure out what to do at that point. Nice work on the atmosphere though!
