Endless Loop by pschichtel

[raw]
made by pschichtel for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

Hey guys,

We are a german team and made a puzzle game.

The control for the teleporter on your spaceship has hung up. You have to restart the PC because otherwise you will be ported back to the last teleporter every 10 seconds. Search for your rocket boots to unlock a dash and your gun to be able to hit targets.

Have fun with our entry,

Cool game! I really liked the art style and mechanics of 10 seconds. Great job!

Cool and challenging! Maybe I missed something but couldn't get beyond the yellow door :joy:

@wizcas You need the yellow keycard from the left-upper side. To get there you need the rocket boots to get over the gap.

I fell out of the level, I jumped over a wall, I got too lazy to walk back to where I came from. Good thing there is a built in mechanic to cover all those!

Everything is close enough to not make the respawning mechanic annoying at all.
The distribution of teleporters is about spot on. I had one moment where I hit the next one as I started to teleport, so I got moved forward, which was awesome. The simple mechanics are easy to understand quickly.

Great job on the game. Very fun experience.

Really nice game! The graphics, the gameplay, everything was very cool. However I think you should add a timer to the reset, it was kind of hart to understand why I was dying so much at the begining untill i remembered the theme, so a timer really would've helped.

Interesting game this, though I eventually got stuck as I was unable to open the red and green doors at the bottom.

Is it supposed to just turn black when you reach the computer?
If so - I won?

That was a superbly designed level though! Just enough "clutter" to make it feel real without making me feel like I was inconvenienced. Always a hard balance.

The spacing between the respawns and what you are trying to do was also perfect so that my brain had to work but not too hard.

A great relaxing little puzzle of a game. Balance is so hard to do in the time constraint of a game jam.

My only room for growth comment is that, if I did reach the end, I'm confused that I did, so either a bug needs to be fixed or a the end indicator needs to happen for those of us who aren't clever.

Either way, very well done! :D

@puyo its a RGB puzzle. There are 4 ways to change the open state of the 3 last doors of which you need to use at least one (can be more as its a bit random which doors are open at the start)

Hey, I just played your game and really enjoyed it! Love the concept and aesthetic you went with. The rocket boots were also super fun to use!
To provide some feedback, I wasn't clear on using space to push the coloured buttons at first (I of course eventually figured it out.) A piece of visual feedback would be nice there to indicate it's being used.
I had a great time with this, it's a well put together package.
Thanks for the game and congrats on submitting!

Good fun, and the relaxing audio design makes it easier and less frustrating when you get teleported back! Love a good color-key-door puzzle :D Great job!

This was a cool concept but I may just be dumb, after getting the gun I can't figure out how to open anything else.

this was cool! I really liked the visuals, the bloomy glow effects + the voxels is a neat combo :)

Congratulations for the game, I love voxel art and I live making my models in voxel, so I'm suspicious to talk about this game that is a very pleasant experience for me, I loved the environment, my only suggestion is to fall into the hole not to take so long to die because my character was alive for a while off the map to then reset, great game congratulations again to all, a big hug.

This was great! It took me a minute to understand what did what but once it clicked this was such a good little puzzle game. Keys, buttons and finding items was all very rewarding! I would maybe say you could do with a little on screen prompt to say what an item does and how to active it such as the jump boots but I figured that out by accident and from there it was smooth sailing.

The jump and the projectile switches were my favourite bits of the game! Those visuals are really nice too. Great use of the isometric style in a way that feels smooth and fluid! Great job with this!

Ran into a bug where somehow "move down" was always on so I had to refresh and restart, but other than that a very polished game! Controls were a little hard which is just a limitation of being keyboard, appreciate it would have hard to add gamepad support as well. Fun puzzles and a really impressively polished look. Well done!

Nice use of lighting with the voxel art style. The three-door puzzle was a bit weird, until I caught on what's going on. The last item (beyond the objective) is unusable - is that a leftover that didn't manage to get implemented? Regardless, very nice game.

It's also one of the few ones that **doesn't** indicate the 10-second timer. This is great actually! Learned to dread the teleportation sound xD.

I enjoyed the game! It was fun figuring out how to play the game and how to progress through the level. A good spin on 10 seconds theme.
I interacted with a computer in the end, and just got a black screen. Seems to me, it's a bug.

Great entry! I really enjoy it, I find it a little hard to me in some point but love the sounds, mechanics and art, the lego man is funny, cool job!
