Decimation by MagentaGames

You are near the ending of the Dark Age. The Plague is spreading death across the continent and war ravage through. Your objective is to keep your power between the chaos, by crushing the standing armies that come towards you.

In this tower defense game using the awarded GameMaker engine, build siege weapons to stop the merciless warriors that want to stop your purposes.

EDIT: Due to some comments, we decided to put here a small description of how the game works. We're sorry this information was not initially in the game, as the tutorial was made quick and we didn't have much time to think about it.

The game IS hard, but all levels are beatable. The enemies are randomly generated at random positions.

You can ONLY put the "towers" and the "rat" in the places with blood. The bombs can only be put in the places where the enemies walk (TIP: bombs can be a lifesaver when your enemies are near the egg).

And finally, we will update the game with the cost of each tower and the amount of blood you have, and post an alternate download link here. We also will add a system in which the weapon will have a different color when you can place it. Again, we're sorry this information was not on the game.

Thank you all for the feedback.

UPDATE #1: New version of the game, based on the feedback of the community.
Changelog:
*Number of blood now can be seen, and also the amount of blood nedeed for the weapons;
*When a weapon can be placed, it will have a green glow outside of it;
*Now, the first enemies of all levels will always be warriors, after that, archers and horsemen will appear;

It needs an indication for the amount of blood it takes to purchase items. Otherwise I'm just clicking randomly in hopes the item I buy will work. Restarting the level instantly is not that good because I don't know when I have beaten the level or I have been killed. This doesn't fit to the theme too well.

However I do like the graphics and it's not a bad start for a TD game. Though maybe I just suck, but I can't seem to beat the first level. I saw the post you made about this game and I liked the concepts of it, and the level ideas were pretty cool, but unfortunately I will not be able to see them as I just seem to not be able to beat the first level. I think if you were to put more work into this game, a bit of rebalancing and tweaking is required :)

Oh well, I hope this was a good learning experience for you and I wish you luck on your next attempt.

At first I was confused on where to place all my "towers". After that I just kept failing during the first levels. Maybe I was doing something wrong?

Confusing that you're limited to blood spots to place towers. Not sure how much towers cost either, I just click until it works. Seems like it's pretty easy to just spam all of the main tracking crossbow things, but I only beat the first level. Good mood/theme stuff.

Great start for a tower defence game. I loved the variety of weapons to choose from to shoot down the enemies. I want to know more information about those turrets, though. A description of each weapon would be really helpful.

The only problem I had with the game was the difficulty. It was really hard to win, and I think thats because the enemies are too random. IHMO, the harder enemies should only come later on, once the defence is more built up. Sometimes those guys came and destroyed my defences at the very beginning! LOL!
Graphics and sound were quite good. Very well done!

Impressive tower defense game. Knowing the costs of things would definitely help, but the mechanics work nice and smoothly otherwise.

Could do with a bit more polish (although so could almost every game here) but definitely the start of a decent TD game.

This is pretty cool, but hard to get into, due to the lack of polish. It's a great start.

Great mood and unit variation, it keeps the game engaging. However, I felt like there was very little strategy involved as all you had to do was build the 15 cost towers that could shoot across the map. Maybe lower the range of the 15 cost tower, otherwise good job!

The ideas and design behind this game are really cool with limiting the placement of stuff. I did run in to it being a bit too hard but I did enjoy it. Nice work.

Basic ballista for 15 blood wins. Other weapons are usless (can't move).
