Run Rage by n.feofentov

[raw]
made by n.feofentov for Ludum Dare 51 (JAM)

10 seconds to find a weapon.

10 seconds to kill enemies.

Repeat.

Runrage-2.png

Your mind is splitted: One part of yours is a parkour runner who cannot use weapons. The second part is a trained killer. Your mind switches between them every 10 seconds.

As a runner you have to dodge enemy's bullets and find weapons.

As a killer you have to kill enemies in bullet time.

There is no proper ending :)

Also there is no restart after death, so just quit the game with Esc and start over. Sorry for inconvenience!

Controls (better played on keyboard+mouse):

WASD/Left Stick - Move

Mouse/Right Stick - Aim

LMB/Right Trigger - Fire

E/Left Face Button - Pick Up Gun

Left Shift/Press Left Stick - Sprint

Space/Bottom Face Button - Jump

Ctrl/Righ Face Button - Toggle Crouch

Too bad you didn't make the graphics/assets yourself, the idea is pretty cool.

I specially like the slow motion effect, the overall idea for the game also has a lot of potential.

This game was really cool!

it has a very intuitive and interesting gameplay, that Reminds me a lot of SUPERHOT, but still somehow uniquely different . Good work!

Woah what an interesting idea! I love the fact that you quickly race around and then have the slow-mo to counteract that while shooting. Cool environment, fun physics and animation. Overall really great job here, no complaints at all!

The idea has potential for sure. Nice work. The theme allowed you to put a cool spin on classic gameplay.

Inventive way to twist the gameplay and them together. I hope you do more with it!

Like Hengen mentioned, it's reminiscent of SUPERHOT, but with a pleasant twist. Not being able to retaliate during the gun collection phase was a very nice way to increase difficulty, great job :D

Also you clip out of the map: ![whoops.png](///raw/6d5/d3/z/5235e.png)

I played this one on stream last night! unfortunately the VOD got muted, so no link :(

This was a really fun concept! There were some bugs, so it would have been nice to have a soft reset button built into the game, but not a big issue

when it was working though, wow! I felt like I had all of the tools I needed to pull off some badassery during the slow motion sections. I liked the speed that the bullets moved in the slow motion, it felt like a good balance

one thing I'd criticize is the controls - having to double tap ctrl to roll was unintuitive for me, and made it really difficult to roll while also sprinting

overall, fun concept!

Nice Max Payne vibes. There's a clear difference between the two modes and the transition is well indicated.
Not sure if it was just my pathing, but I ran out of guns pretty fast. Also, I think there are a lot of people around you straight away. Maybe the start could be slightly softer?

The restart after death would have been greatly appreciated.

Well done!

Interesting concept and a nicely designed level to go with it. I felt there was plenty of thought put into the level layout and how it should be approached, which made me feel that the some more puzzle-like elements would suit those mechanics more. Nice job!

Interesting concept and gameplay.
Had a few small issues with physics and climbing, but they are not dramatic.
Also looks like bullets not always fly in the right direction when shooting during the sprint.

But still, the game is quite fun to play. Reminds me of max payne and uncharted series.
Great job!
