Ravening Edge by Tsunscreen

Risen from the depths with an insatiable blade, you must make your way through three levels of enemies, but making sure to replenish your weapon's supply of souls, lest it feast on your own instead...

This is a small doom-like game. Only 3 levels and a few weapons (one of them you pickup in level 3) but it turned out pretty alright. Controls provided in game, but it's pretty much what you'd expect. Everything made by me >:)

This one was awesome! The combat was smooth/satisfying, the graphics were great and the audio suited the game well. The extra weapon + boss fight in the last level were really unexpected. The variety of enemies was also impressive for a gamejam, really solid entry.

Great game. I really liked the wolfenstein-esque level design using the classic keycard formula. The graphics were really well done, and the gameplay felt satisfying. The 10 second soul counter was really well implemented I think.

One thing I would add is some sort of visual damage indicator for enemies. Something to let the player know that they are ready to be slashed.

LOVE this graphic style. So cool. Nice audio too. If I was gonna change one thing I'd look at the enemies/weapons balancing as I just kept going up to them and slashing the sword, didn't find the gun too satisfying. But very nice game!

That was a really neat little experience! The theme worked well here, making you intentional about when and how you cleared enemies, especially during the very fun boss fight! The graphics fit very well, and the music kept the pace up and made me feel very badass killing all the monsters. I liked the slash to kill mechanic, and having to ensure you came in close for the final slash was a great piece of second-to-second gameplay. The levels were designed well too, with nice little chokepoints and some forced explorations with the key cards. The enemy designs were great too and well communicated - I felt like I knew which were strong and which weren't.

I think the only constructive feedback I have is to maybe add more enemy types, make it longer, and possibly make it more juicy - some gore when you kill enemies, or some visual indication when they're ready to be slashed. Some more general effects as well when picking up items or just shooting at the monster would be great too. But the core gameplay that you have is very solid, so good job!

Thanks! Yeah adding some corpses/gibs was definitely on my mind but I never got around to it. Glad people enjoyed the look/sound of the game <3

Great game !! really good concept. Got stuck in middle for a while but figured out the way later. Awesome work for a limited time jam. You should go with this concept further. A little more work from the SFX sides would have done wonder, but then again the time was limited so I can understand the complexity. Overall really good job. Please do check out my submission as well.
