Cosmic Sweep by Jammin

[raw]
made by Jammin for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

You're a proud space debris collector, and you need to harvest them. They will be recycled and transform into usable matter. With this usable matter, you can grow your colony, from the menu. Use R2/RT for the thruster, left stick to rotate and X/A to grab ship parts. For keyboards WASD to move, and space to grab.

The things I liked most about this game were the graphics and the audio. This is a game that looks and sounds appealing. I found the actual gameplay to be a bit strange. Why am I pushing things into a hole? What do the upgrades do? It feels deeply unsatisfying and indirect to push things around with this triangle, like eating a plate of food but your fork is on the end of a pool noodle. That's not to say I didn't like the game though. When I had enough of the literal Sisyphean task, I decided to just pick a direction and go. The background fades away in a very nice way as you accelerate. It's a pretty game.

As everyone else I loved the art style. It looks amazing. For the gemaplay I also think it was a bit strange. Pretty early all debris was laying on the big planet and I just moved 5 pixel back and forth. Not sure if that was intended or what I shoudl do![Unbenannt.PNG](///raw/60f/93/z/55f7d.png)

Your game reminds me of our first entry to a game jam! (https://morpheyz.itch.io/reconnect)

But you did much better job on the visuals, nice! :)

Pretty nice game! Good job on the visuals, I think it would have been nice with some additional challenge or mechanic

Wonderful music!

As for the gameplay, i like that you need to adapt to that diagonal gravity, but the debris often spawns right next to the hole which makes the game much easier

This is a cool idea. You wan't to profit from the factories and workers, but they produce more and more junk which you must collect. The controls feel cool when you're out of the planet's orbit, but most of the time i was dragging my ship on the ground to push the debris to the pit.

I love the music and the graphics are beautiful.
The planets are pretty, it's a shame you have more interest in just standing next to the hole and waiting for the debris to appear. It would be nice to have a goal that encourages exploration, maybe with more valuable things to collect on other planets. It's fun to be able to pick up speed and push the debris. I really like the parallax of the background.

Good job !

I like the idea and it was cool to play for a while, but perhaps miss the overall goal. Also, didnt really understand and saw the difference with buying the upgrades.

The visuals and music is really good. The gameplay is okay, but I would have liked to have more to do. Overall an okay little jam game.

It took me some time to understand that you can buy things on the "menu" I expected it was something about game settings (like volume)
Nevermind, when I found it, I buyed some things but didn't seem to be anything, is that normal ?

I was exploring around to try to see more of the wonderful arts, until I got stuck with the rubber duck. The visual and music got me into the mood, it would be nice to have a little more gameplay features to match the vibe.

The game mechanics are a bit hard to grasp but it was fun to move the ship around. The graphics and the audio are great to, good job!

Love the look of the planets and of space! After collecting a bunch of trash I flew off into the great unknown, never to return.

Liked the whimsical art style, although I did find the ship a bit difficult to control. Additionally, it would have been interesting if flying around the map allowed you to find more debris, but it seemed like most spawned near the beginning.

Amazing Graphics and sound the mood was also phenomenal. Unfortunately didn't feel like there was much to do and felt uneventful. The sound was again awesome and with the parallax affect it made me want to go out further and explore but then got lost and found nothing. Loved the artwork and style of the game along with where it put me would love to see more.
