nut another harvest story by WhaleJam
Help a little squirrel on its quest to find a nut before winter comes

Interact with the game by clicking on the colourful text to choose the little squirrels path~ Feel free to explore the story as many times as you want, there are 5 nuts to find and 4 animals to unlock in your main menu
https://weefairyfabi.itch.io/nut-another-harvest-game Changes: The itch build now allows you to skip (most of~) the text :) The dowloadable is still the original game from submission.

Our interpretation of the jam theme is a pick your own adventure story game about a little squirrel on its quest to find a nut because it overslept and forgot to create its harvest stash. We hope you enjoy~~

There was only one thing I've missed: speeding up the text. I'm really impatiant in that regard and for me that kills replayability. Because I want to go fast to the branches I haven't read yet.
But besides that this was a really nice new experience :-)
I'm sad that it wasn't more longer :)
My only complaint was the inability to speed up the text, even when there's only a few endings, it get's a little annoying going through the same pieces of dialogue over and over again. Great job, both of you!
We did update the itch playable to be able to skip the text so I hope this helps, I am a quite impatient person as well so I totally get it haha. Thank you for the feedback :)
I can only recommend to play it again to see all characters!
(The discovered characters appear as soon as the game starts over) cute detail!
- The plucking of strings, soft pads and flute
- The fairytale itself!
- How there's almost always something interesting moving on the screen
- Nuts in all sorts of shapes and sizes
- Cute, well drawn characters
- The animals softly bouncing, when you hover over them
- The visual effects added for emphasis to certain words in the story
- The FIFTH, hidden nut brought by an unexpected twist to the story
- How well everything is put together
- The knife :bird:
A children's book come alive! Will certainly recommend this to friends :chestnut:
i tried so hard to find the fifth nut, i think i explored every dialogue option and got two bad ends. i thought it might be a way to secretly cross the river... alas.
great work! i love the children storybook art style.
also dang, that raven! what a surprising attack!

Extremely heartwarming and a really clever spin on the theme. I ran through each choice so that I could see all endings and was so happy to see that each one had something different, even just a minor choice of words, and that felt pretty satisfying too. Bravo!
