This was a great little story, and I think you nailed the parent-child relationship dynamic you were going for. I also think I spoiled my plant too much.
My biggest critique is that the text moves too slowly. Still, it was worth the wait to reach the end of the game. I really enjoyed seeing Damien grow.
All in all,very cool!
I was a bit confused at first what was causing happiness to go down, didn't realize you needed to use the scissors even when there was no plant visible in the pot  I wonder if it would be fun to only have the happiness meter appear at the turning point in the story, and have it be more effected by the type of responses you give. Although maybe it does and I didn't notice since I only ever picked the nice responses haha.
And the responses have hidden counters to decide the ending. There're 3 different endings.
Nice and relaxing game.
I chose the first option for the first half of the game, and then went with mostly the second option. I am a non-parent but this game feels like it captures some really essential part of parenting and I totally understand the impulse to over-protect.
Music was really nice too. Great game!
But there are some points can be improved in terms of interaction and feedback.
1. It would be better if we can click to make the dialog of beginning shows up in shorter time because it cost about 15-20 seconds, which is too long for player.
2. When player take care of the plant, for example, watering, it will be better if there is some visual feedback or sound effect. Because players may ignore the status bar on the top and get confused about what is the feedback of their input.

- Agree with all the rest that the text needs speeding up, and a click to autocomplete feature.
- Ended up finding the happiness scissors by clicking everything, as I didn't associate them with happiness.
