(The sound effects are amazing btw)
Great job on the game! The bgm is gonna be stuck in my head for a while now.
I think the harvesting theme could be better integrated (we didn't even realize it was a thing until our second playthrough)
Also we played the itch version but there was a bug where at the start of the node selection it would error out and auto move to the next battle. We didn't get to fight the last boss as a result.
Anyway, great stuff!
@skullpaca - when a building is maxed out, there should generally not be any tooltip popping up anymore suggesting that there's more upgrades. If it still does, sorry about the confusion. Repairs are a pain and have already been toned down a good bit, Islands used to repair like crazy, hah.
@fromage - we're happy to make families happy! That progression-skip has been haunting us the entire day, thought it would miraleously dissappear, thanks for the feedback!
After that I had a lot of fun!
Unfortunately I couldn't select the final big ship for some reason so I missed the last battle.
Also the battles felt a bit boring at the end since I just kept klicking on my cannon (don't know if there is a better strategy). The farming / upgrading part of the game was way more interesting and fun to me.
Other than that not a lot to complain about, just a fun little experience that I really enjoyed!
Grrrrrrreat job!
And even though I tried hard (really) I couldn't defeat the boss, it's just too strong :D
<3
But besides that, good job! The music and sound effects were great, and the graphics were good too, except for they made it hard to tell what is interactible and what isn't.
Really enjoyed it though. One of the games I've enjoyed the most so far.
I think the final fight against the 2 mast ship in the middle of the map bugged for me, because when it appeared, I was not able to click on it to proceed.
Nice work, overall.
I think one thing that could be improved is that it wasn't very clear which parts of the screen are clickable (I only found out you could plant resources on my third playthrough)
## Feedback
### Game
Fun and strategic gameplay in deciding what to plant in advance, which can be easily extended by adding more actions to battles requiring different resources!
About that... what's the point of cannonballs if you can use any other resource in place of them, and they take the same time to grow?
(No time to implement different growth times?)
The game crashed right before the final boss battle! :(((
### Distribution
Thanks for **providing a HTML5 build**!
Since I am playing on Linux, I appreciated it!
@steffo appreciate the detailed feedback! Thank you! <3 but yeah, initially we wanted to have different growth times, but unfortunately due to the time it would take to balance we opted out to at least deliver a core experience for the jam!
We're still working on polish of the UI and adding some animations in it, we'll do a separate file release to our itch once we're done! thanks to everyone for playing and thanks in advance to those yet to embark!
But otherwise a pretty neat entry ^^
