Poiéin by william gauthier

After a disaster, humans, and life as we know completely vanished. Leaving behind a wandering robot. It is confronted with an infinite emptiness and loneliness. Faced with this nothingness, our surviving robot tries to thwart fate, and recreate a small world.
He will be helped by "poiéins", slimes loaded with primitive elements. But his cortex having been damaged, he must relearn to combine the elements, hunt the wildest of them, and harvest the fruit of their combinations: the creation of Life.

I enjoyed making various landscaped and combining the dudes, but it didn't really feel like there was an end goal besides fill every plot of land. I wish there were some more combinations too, or at least some checklist so I know I found them all.
I love the look of the poieins, and the animations are friggin' adorable. nice work!
The aim of the jam was first to try out this mechanic and game feel, which we are happy about! Then, we designed a win-and-lose condition that we didn't have time to implement, unfortunately. The goal is once you discover all the elements, you unlock an analyzer that tells you the state of the environment you created. Each element impacts the other like a rock-paper-scissor, then you have to carefully place the element to create an optimum environment.
For now, you just have to fill all the tiles to your liking and have an end message. Then you can replay and do another environment.
Curious to see how this could evolve into a full-featured post-jam game, good job!
This game strongly reminds me of Slime Rancher. Maybe it would be more in accord with the theme to harvest slimes for money!
over all it is a great game!
