My first jam game I ever made was a clicker, but this outpaces it by leagues and bounds. I will say for some reason for me on itch the game has scroll bars which don't take away from the experience and I can read everything perfectly fine I just find it strange that they are there in the first place. You may want to check the resolution you have set in itch as it may be slightly too small. Other than that the game played fine. I have grown past my days as a clicker fantatic but for people who are still in it I am sure they would enjoy this. The art was especially good. So all in all I would say you did a good job.

The mushrooms are really pretty. I think the combination of clicker and farming is quite interesting and fun to play!

I think the idea is awesome, an upgrade/clicker game with a planting minigame based on the enemies you defeat. It could use a bit more polish, but the core gameplay is solid.

Solid loop, the seed planting part felt a bit too RNG for me, also those upgrades took a way longer time than the gold upgrades which maxed out rather quickly. At some point it becomes just a waiting game since there's a forced second of waiting for a new enemy to show up, so at that point it felt pointless to continue waiting for seeds to max out the rest since at that point you oneshot everything.

This critique is only about the balance, which is very difficult to finetune in two days. The rest of the game, graphics, features etc is very nice!

@frib If I had more time I definitely would have put a level selector where you can unlock higher-HP, monsters with better drops / drop rates. Even if it looks like things really came together, time is cruel to everyone in the jam X) Thanks for playing!

The art and the writing here really help to bring it all together. Quite compelling!

This is an interesting idea for an idle/clicker game. I like the concept of having a little group of plants off to the side which grow to give bonuses and powerups of their own.

I agree with others that the planters end up being a little underutilised in comparison to the core clicker gameplay. But outside the scope of the jam, I can easily see how they'd end up being very engaging and rewarding - especially with the possibility of more plants, more plant pots (as a potential upgrade/use for extra coins?), and more interactions between the plants themselves.

Clicker games must be hard to balance and pace even without a two-day time limit, so I think you've done a wonderful job! The music, art and flavour text lend themselves to a dangerous mood, too, which I really like. You get the impression that this isn't an average job with average flowers.

Nice hand made graphics
I understood the click/ attack. I was able to grow plants, but I did not understand where these grown plants affect the attach game loop. They grow and disapear. Leaves me puzzled.
I see the four icons on the top and I think one is the seed for growing, one is clearly a coin, and I see that with the green thing on the right I can buy things. But I do not know when they appear (except coins).
I "feel" the game idea/ mechanic and that is cool. But it felt a bit unclear what is actualy happening. Yes, I clicked and plants died. And I can add a seed. But it felt a bit detached from my doing. Not sure If I expressed myself wel..
I think one reason is the missing visual/ sound feedback. And the other the not clear communication of the link of the two game loops and making clear what the icons mean/ when they appear.

@itzemii You're right on the money there. I wanted to add a little particle system so when monsters died and plants finished growing, you'd see the items pop out and kind of where they go, but there just wasn't time. You actually get more coins from growing than fighting and that's hard to see if you're not looking for it.

If you're on desktop you can mouseover the icons up top and see their names, but I would have also liked to add a long-press for them so you could see more info in mobile.

Good work, I played this one waaay more than a should have, got a little too into the grind, excellent job adding a music mute button as well, nothing wrong with the music I just prefer to play these games without it.

i think its cool that you incorporated education about the poisonous plants into the game, and the low-res art reminded me of old computer games i've played.

on the web version (at least in Safari), i didn't get any sound.

a little more variation than just tapping would have been appreciated.

overall, i don't really vibe with killing plants (poisonous or otherwise) for no reason tho : (

Nice got really hooked and will idle-play it for now! Really well balanced already for a jam game! Would have loved to see more feedback and a bit of visual juice - but you focused on the right priorities. Good job!!

Nice and detailed game with a lot of content. I liked the dual battle/farming mechanics, and the upgrades were fun. Good job on the balance, there was always something just out of reach urging you to keep playing.

Really nice clicker! The seed growing part is cool. All this needs is more content/upgrades. Gold is useless after you max out the first 2 upgrades. Would be nice to upgrade grow speeds, buy more pots, automatic planting, etc. Good job!

Got way more into this than I expected, nice blend of a simple clicker but having rogue-like upgrade vibes. Impressive effective entry, thanks
