Puzzling Harvest by Uzpykes

[raw]
made by Uzpykes for Ludum Dare 52 (COMPO)

ld52-preview.png Solve every-day farming tasks. Drive your combine harvester and harvest crops. Some efficiency might be required ;)

Short instructions: - Use arrows around combine to control where your harvester should move - Harvester can only move to the tile in front or behind. However, you can also perform a 90 degrees turn on the target tile - Harvest and deposit crops, however, mind your fuel. If running low, re-supply at a fuel pump (it's a red block, lol, I ran out of time sorry) - To re-supply fuel, park your harvester so that fuel pump would be on the right - To deposit crops, park your harvester so that trailer would be on the left

Longer tutorial is available in the game.

Thank you for playing!

Puzzles are great, graphics are perfects, logic is good also.
Good game I love it! (I would love a hint for level 5!)

@sdelay Hmm, let's say that in level 5 you need to drive more backwards than forwards :D

First puzzle game I see in this jam and it's nice to see different games even more when they are well done, good job! ;)

A fun and pretty well made little puzzle game. Some music or/sound effects would have made it a bit better. But the visuals is good. Overall a pretty good jam game. Well done.

Nice puzzle game. But it keeps telling me that I failed level even when I believe I did everything right. Or maybe I'm just not good at it  Anyways, good job!

Brilliant game! All it needs is some sounds and/or music, but i guess that's the one extra day you don't have in the compo.

Nice puzzle game!
Took me a while to realize that the output of the harvested had to be above the storage

Excellent game! It's a very good compo entry. Except the lack of sound, everything is well done. The low poly models do the job. The control scheme is perfect, allowing to play 100% with the mouse. The levels are hard, but I was hooked and couldn't stop until I beat the 7th level.

Maybe the unloader could have been a different color, because on some orientations it is difficult to see it (confused with the body of the harvester).

The main request I have for the future is: could we have more levels please 😉👍

Straight forward take on the theme with an amazing twist by making this a puzzle game. I loved the graphics and think in general the game has a polish to it that could play into an eventual full project/game. Nice work!!

Now *this* is how I like my puzzle games! Short levels where you're not out much time for making a wrong move. And each level builds on the previous one in order to teach the player bit-by-bit how to maneuver the harvester.

Level five made me feel particularly large-brained for beating it. There are a few clever revelations about the game's mechanics you have to arrive at in order to beat it. And it does it all with so few moving parts. Level six was really good too.

The fueling system was a bit awkward to figure out. First off, the big glowing red cube doesn't really look much like a fueling station. (I assume this was a time constraint thing.) Second, I had to go back to the menu to determine which side I had to fuel it from. I figured out the grain deposit from the model, but there doesn't seem to be anything indicating fuel side.

An undo button would have been nice as well. I had to restart the level many times due to misclicks.

But overall, this is a nice snacky little puzzle game. Great work!

Pretty well put together! It's a tricky one but it's satisfying to get a win, and as another commented mentioned, the quick levels make trying things out feel less like you're wasting time having to redo things. I'd have loved some sound but the visuals are nice :) good job!
