I am a little bit confused about if I'm successfully planting seeds / how points are made, but maybe it will be more clear if I find someone to play against co-op. Amazing work!
Controls seemed a little awkward. The game is positioning itself as a "party game" and complex management is not necessary. You can just remove the inventory switch button and make one of the slots active always. Then the action button will always use the first of the items, and game dynamic will grow.
The gameplay is confusing and I couldn't figure out exactly what to do. I can pickup seeds and bring them back to my god - but it seems like there was something about blood and growing that i just couldn't figure out.
Also the game's camera angle is hard to deal with and its zoom'd too far out. I wanted some close ups on those great artistic visuals (they are gorgeous). I think a forced split screen would work really well here and give the much needed zoom in without being distracting.
The visuals are amazing, the setting is amazing, the sound is amazing, the character designs are amazing. The sheep, who always spent more time hindering my partner than me, is amazing.
The only things I would comment on is I feel the zoom is a bit too far out, and I'd like to ability to reassign keys to make it a little bi less crammed, or to move my invent scrolling key far, farrrr away, as hitting that instead of using my current item screwed me up a bunch.
Would love to see a full 4 player version, even if it isn't one system/couch game at that time.
Needs a few minor additions like "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I'M FALLING TO MY DEAAAAAAATHHHHHHHH" sounds and an indicator when I can pick things up and the ability to murder that damn sheep.
But regardless, the atmosphere was top notch, very nice game overall.
I wish it had an AI opponent, but I know that's a tall order for a jam game.
I love the aesthetics and the general vibe.
Well done!
Also the art is super nice! Well done!
Nice entry for the Extra category!
