You are a soul harvester, gifted with LIFESTEAL and SOUL COLLECTING abilities. You drain enemy health with your sword while healing yourself and collect their souls when you kill them. Each soul makes you stronger and you can upgrade in the soul shop. However, you can only go for so long until you fall and must return next year. How many souls will you collect during this year's SOUL SEASON ?

An hour after the submission, we have some major bug fixes!
- Fixed souls would not be reset between rounds
- Fixed explosive projectile would not explode on contact with player
- Fixed no cooldown between waves after 18
- Fixed same number of enemies between waves after 18
- Fixed able to collect souls after death
- Fixed health bar going past 100%

Another quick update, I just fixed one bug where it would always start each round at wave 18. (also added movement controls on ldjam.com and itch.io)

Well,without the title,you may lose the theme.But I really think your thought is great.
If the images aren't like these,the game may be more like a game.

This is a pretty fun little game idea. Perhaps a bit too easy and camera shake is a bit aggressive. But I overall liked this game. Well done.

The teleportation combined with combat is really cool! Currently just spam-clicking seems to work as a strategy, though.

It's honestly a little scary how much fun a game can be with just feedback. I was mashing left click and surviving without much issue, but I still played for several minutes just because all of the flashing, screenshake, and particle effects felt great! I think the lifesteal is a little too high, to the point that even from the beginning I was under no threat of losing. But sometimes you want a game like that, and apparently I did :P

The game is simple but looks really good, the animations and the core gameplay is well made. I played for 20 minutes xD. Great job !

I lost track of how much time I spent in this game. Thousands of souls harvested.
Very repetitive, but that's not a bad thing in this case. It was a lot of fun for such a simple idea.

Seconding what JudJudson said - I genuinely forgot I could upgrade several times because the effects were so rewarding, really well done! It would've been nice to know how much upgrades cost in the shop, but other than that it was a pretty good submission

I ran into an issue where my health bar would flicker like this after upgrading my HP... not sure what was happening there :thinking: Also, the camera will shake if you click the background in the shop. Nothing that prevented me from playing though, well done!

The feedback on hits was great. I liked being able to customize my stats. I put most of them into speed and life steal and I quickly got to a point where I couldn't die, but it was still very satisfying to hit stuff. Fun to play. Good job.

Visuals were very polished. No sound was disappointing. The health extended past the health bar when I harvested souls, but that was the only but I encountered.

Camera is too shaky in my opinion. It's really blurry that I thought my glasses are not clean hahaha.

Overall the game is good!

Fun to play. It would be nice if there were some sound effects, The attack range and enemy movement patterns make me confused. Once I have moved out of the screen, it is very difficult to come back.

It feels like the game has potential, and many parts are actually well polished, but at the same time it's missing many important things: controlls feel a bit uncomfortable, make just on space, and teleport somewhere on keyboard too. Also attack without direction on mouse feeld wrong, and you can't even hold to attack. Teleport and in the end even moveing felt unnecessary, I was just spamming attack and geting carried by lifesteal.
But overall well done, I think it can result in a fun, fast-paced, arena platformer.

It's quite a cool game and the graphics are quite polished, though I think the camera shake could be reduced somewhat and I'd prefer if there were more sound effects :)

Some techno music with this would be great :)

I actually had to quit the game because it felt like all I was doing was randoming clicking. Maybe maybe it more tactical or hader?

Graphics are really clean and good looking!

It's fun to play and simple to use, but the screen shakes too much when I hit it, and I get dizzy quickly.

I really like life steal abilities in games!
The colors on the blocks is used quite well, them turning white on hits looks good.
The particles and screen-shake add nicely to it too.
