This was really hard, but a lot of fun!

I very much enjoyed the cohesive art and audio presentation. I don't know exactly what the technical limitations of the TIC-80 are, having never worked with it before, but you've certainly done a good job within those constraints.

At first, I thought you had to get the fruit _into_ the basket, though soon enough I realised that just tossing the fruit _at_ the basket would do. Even then, I never quite managed to master the bounce angles and ended up only making it to level 5.

I'll take another stab, and see how I do. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone developed a better strategy than mine, which ended up mostly just being 'flail and pray'.

EDIT: OH THE SPOT WHERE IT BOUNCES DETERMINES THE DIRECTION. Middle goes up, the further left or right you go the sharper the angle. Once I figured this out, I got to level 9 :)

@avareii Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! The main issue for me in terms of technical constraints was the 16-colour palette, I had to adjust it slightly to stop things from blending into each other. Being able to just toss the fruit at the basket was a deliberate design choice just to make things a little more forgiving. And yeah, the fruit bounce in different directions depending on where they land on the trampoline, maybe I could've made that a little clearer as it's a very pivotal game mechanic  Glad you managed to figure it out and progress further!

I like your game! Some feedback:

- I like how you have to bounce rotten fruits in the recycle bin. The first two levels I did not understand that thing, but when the gray apple came, I knew right away what to do!
- In the description you talk abou rare fruits. Which ones are rare?
- This game passed my idle-test, where I let the game run while writing this review. I did not clear the level that way, which is a good thing :-)
- Very polished game. I had fun playing yours
- The color blind mode is a very good addition.

@wouter52 Glad you enjoyed it! The "how to play" screen shows the fruits in order of rarity: apples are the most common, then banana, then orange, then mango.

I liked the retro sounds and the overall mood of the game. The gameplay is a little bit hectic but I had fun ;-)

The music is really nice and the gameplay feels smooth. Sometimes I felt like a fruit passed through a corner of the trampoline where I wondered why the fruit didn't bounce back. It took me about 2 levels to understand the game mechanics better, but once that was done, I could really enjoy it. Good work.

bouncing the fruits around is fun especially when you throw a bunch of fruits in the general direction of the basket then throw them all in at once. having to start the entire game from the beginning when you lose is not very nice tho. Audio is good but the music sounds detuned (might be a web build problem?) visuals are clean and easily readable. Had a good time overall

Kind of simple yet addictive! Only small change I'd make is to be able to scoot the trampoline (i swear it's a garbage can lid...) further to the left (or right) so fruits that fall near the edges can be aimed better.

I really appreciate the colorblind mode! Super cool to have such an option.

I read your post and I really do think splitting the game up into levels was a great idea. I got to level 8 I think, pretty fun! :)

Really cool to see accessibility options in a game jam!

Fun and frantic. I definitely got into the swing of things as it went on, which was satisfying.

I think the swing of things was a little bit different from what I wanted to see, though. Its strange that there is no penalty for either dropping fruits or placing good fruits into the recycle bin. The recycle bin almost ends up being unused since I just let the rotten fruit fall.

I think fruit being able to fall safely is totally fine, but the recycle bin being there points to a very different kind of gameplay than is actually here, something that would involve moving all around the playfield and sorting fruit. What it actually ends up being is hugging the right side of the screen and trying to vaguely push any fruits that fall on that side to the right while ignoring all the others.

Its a lot of fun doing that, but I feel like rebalancing things a little bit could open up the game a little bit more. Even switching to mouse controls to speed up movement could help a lot.

Good stuff! Very classic style, reminds me of some of the old MacOS games of my childhood. One thing that was pretty frustrating was not being able to guess how exactly it would bounce - one thing to make that easier would be to use a bullseye design on the trampoline.

quite addictive game indeed! i like the simple pixel art and the increasing difficulty. maybe movements of the plate were a bit too slow, but it was fun to play!

I like this kind of game where with a quick look you get the goal of the game.
I didn't pass the level 4 even after some retry. Maybe the trampoline is a little bit slow for me ^^.

Well done! Good old style

@aune The speed of the trampoline has been the one piece of negative feedback I've gotten, I'll have to try a version of the game with mouse controls instead and see if that feels better. Glad you enjoyed it otherwise!
