Last Harvest by mahalis

You are a ghostly scythe in a field, gathering souls from the wheat to pay off Death and get back to your family.
Ended up running a little short on time so it’s missing audio / music, gameplay depth, and some visual effects… but for a compo entry I’m happy with it.
Tools:
- Unreal Engine 5
- Cinema 4D
- Substance Designer
In theory it supports gamepads, but mine died a while back so that is only theoretical. If you try it with one and something weird happens, please let me know.
If the Windows build doesn’t launch because you’re missing a Visual C++ Runtime: get that here, I think. The one you want is probably X64.

So far one of my favourites!
also I like that the mechanics of the game are simple enough you don't really need a tutorial or anything, just one control, and the "press anything reasonable" made me lol
only criticism is I was able to fall out of the world, breaking the game loop, which I assume means my farmer decided the deal with death wasn't worth it and preferred a free-falling purgatory haha. Overall, amazing work, especially considering it was for the compo! cheers
side note: I had a hard time running it at first since the exe kept saying "Visual Studio C++ runtime required" but managed to get the required files at the end.

Move are interesting.
The graphics and scene is great! Amazing atmosphere with the night, wheatland, and fog!
The game is very good, congratulations!

I cheated a little by jumping away from the field, so the useful wheats spawning around were clearly visible.
