N.O.A.S. by JudJudson
CONGRATULATIONS!
After careful consideration, and one (1) rigorous fifteen minute interview, you have been hired as a most-time picker for the National Organization of Authentic Seeds! We'd like to cordially welcome you to the NOAS family. And as our wonderful founder Chaff Beanzos likes to say: just like with real family, we don't owe you anything.
We hired you because you fit our unique needs. You're familiar with plants, and very good at identifying the parts that may or may not explode or macerate your less discerning fellows! You've demonstrated a strong aptitude for adapting to your environment, being alive, and doing what people say when they give you enough money.
So again, welcome! We know you'll honor the NOAS Picker name. And remember: If you could pick, you'd still pick NOAS!
Controls
WASD to move, E to harvest plants.
Plants can only be harvested when ripe, or... a little overripe. Those ones might take a few tugs to get out of the ground. Or uh... Just one steady pull? It depends. The flavor of lethal intent also tends to stick around, so just try to get 'em before then, OK? OK. Good luck.!

All rights reserved. No, not your rights. Snickering at homophones for NOAS in the context of picking is strictly prohibited. All Pickers are responsible for own food, health, and funeral costs. NOAS bears no liability in case of bugs, crashes, or insects.
Changelog:
1.0.1: Removed old dev testing keybind. Reduced speed boost from second meal to reduce rates of vehicular manslaughter.

@lukas-boersma Your goal is to harvest the plants! If they are grown enough to have fruit, you can walk up to them and press E to pick them. If they are grown enough to have more than fruit, you may have to press it multiple times or hold it. The indicator above the plant lets you know what to do (mashing or holding)
Great entry. It's really cohesive, has clear direction and is a nice little package.
I think the melee plants are weird though. I understand they change color to telegraph their attack, and going by the description I think I'm supposed to mash E on them? Picking plants in general is pretty fiddly because of the tiny distance you need to keep, but I think that was intentional to make it feel scrambly. I avoided the melee plants on my winning run though.
Pretty funny, too!
Constantly getting stuck on corners was annoying, it may have been better with circular collision shapes make navigation a bit more forgiving.
I didn't realise you had to hold E on the throwing plants until reading the comments. I assumed you were are supposed to mash E to win on all of them. On replaying I see the clues were there, I just missed them in the chaos. It wasn't very clear where the projectiles were to dodge them.
I feel like the plants grew a bit too fast. In the early stage, you can the first one easy, maybe the second one early as well, but after that it feels impossible to get any of them before they fully grow. Cool game, but I think it gets too difficult too fast.
The thing that held it back for me was that the character movement didn't "feel" good, so it was often more frustrating than anything to play.
But overall it's still a cool game, good job!
