Your garden is a complete mess. Somehow all the crops have gotten mixed together. You cannot stand it. Slide the plots around to organize your crops before you can harvest them.

How the Sausage Is Made

  • I wrote the game in c++, using my game jam library, libgam.
  • I made the art using Aseprite.
  • I made the music using my hardware synthesizers and mastered tracks in Ardour.

This ended up being a lot more fun than I was expecting! Good twist on the sliding puzzle genre. Awesome sound track too!

That was fun- the artstyle was very pleasing to the eye. The only problem I found is that whenever I'd click fullscreen it would crash the game. Thanks for sharing, I had fun :)

Impressive, very nice graphics and a solid core to the game, have to admit I failed on level 3.

Simple mechanics yet really chanllenging to play, especially after the rocks are added to the game! The music, sfx, and graphics all fit together nicely, making this game a complete package! Well done.

Great game! This is exactly the kind of game i wanted to make as well, i intended to make before the jam started  I made a C++ emscripten game as well. Wanted to do a simple, clever, fun mechanic, not too much art, so there is enough time to polish everything up. You executed that perfectly. I'm jealous  Would have liked to know how many levels there are, or if there is an end to the game / a highscore of some kind. I wasn't sure if / for how long i should keep playing.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The levels are randomly generated, so you can keep playing forever if you like, but the difficulty stops at level 15 (and in fact, the number will stop going up). I meant to add an end screen after you beat level 15 but ran out of time. My friends and I have been comparing times to beat level 15.

What a cool game! I really like puzzles so this had me hooked. Simple mechanics of a sliding puzzle repurposed to serve as a mechanic of this grouping puzzle. The rising difficulty curve makes sure it doesn't become boring.

I guess I don't have anything negative to say about it. Very nice game!

This is extremely good! Really solid overall. The music is great.

I didn't realize the levels were randomly generated - that must have been at least a little difficult to get coded correctly.

I recorded my gameplay, you can watch it here (6:50):

Thanks for sharing the video. It's always fun to see people discover how to play. The random levels was actually pretty easy to do. I have it place any rocks first, then fill the garden in a solved state, then it just makes thousands of random moves to shuffle things up. This way, I know the level will always be solvable.

Swish game and especially lovely vibrant illustrations for the fruit and veg. Thanks!

This is terrific! I had to play it just for the title portmanteau, but it’s way more engaging than I expected at a glance—the puzzles are really satisfying. I would spend a *lot* of time playing this if it were on my phone. Music’s really pleasant too: gives me a Stardew Valley vibe. Great work.

Looks great, very easy to play. Similar to a slide puzzle. Some of the levels get tricky. Well done!

Wooow! I wasn't expecting that, 1st of all this has to be one of the most polished games I've seen so far. The idea is simple, we have all seen similar games, but even though it is so simple and easy to learn, you managed to make a puzzle gane I haven't seen similar before!

Really relaxing and addictive!
I had to force myself to stop playing after 10 levels, I could have spent hours on this game.

Simple but effective. Good job! :D

Wow! Very nice!
I normally do not like shift/ reshuffle games. But I did like yours!
Let me think why:
- the controls are surprisingly intuitive, straight forward
- the goal is not one-fixed-solution, but there are multiple solutions - I think this is the main reason why I like it over any other such game
Overall:
- solid implementation
- nice graphics
- nice fitting music
- good difficulty ramp up (even some, like level 3 not so)
- fits well the jam theme
Congratulations! - Nice!

this reminded me so much of my childhood. I always played those kind of puzzles game when I was a kid, but I remember them being very tiring at some point. i didn't run into that issue with this one. having to only match up groups made it feel like making much more progress in a shorter amount of time :)

Took me awhile, but I got it. It's entries like these that make you wonder why it takes a while to play and rate games. ;-) nice job on the graphics and programming. Pretty much flawless with animations too! xD Simple concept, lots of levels. A harvest take on a classic puzzler.
