Data Farmer v1.0 by Neeeb_

Data Farmer v1.0, my first Ludum Dare submission.

In this incremental game, collect USERS for your social media company and HARVEST their DATA for PROFIT!

Collect USERS by visiting the web and sucking them up.

Harvest DATA by depositing USERS in your server farm. Data is harvested passively overtime.

Visit the shop to sell DATA to the highest bidder, earn MONEY, and buy UPGRADES.

I've only been learning Unity for a month or two now, but I decided to wade into the waters with this game jam. It's not perfect, play-tested, or pretty, but I'm pretty happy all things considered. I think for my next jam, I want to limit my scope more... a lot more.

Programs used: Unity / GIMP / Bosca Ceoil

TL,DR: A wonky, little incremental game that's neat for a first try at gamedev.

I love incremental games. Very Fun. I think the upgrades get reset after you return from the web, because the server capacity gets reset to 100.

It's an interesting take on the theme! It gets repetitive very fast, though. My biggest recommendation would be to add an upgrade that increases the amount of data you can sell at once.

Nice game and very impressive for a first jam. A bug I found is that you can re-buy any upgrade and it stacks

Server capacity gets reset when returning from the web. You can buy upgrades a lot of times. I quickly got every upgrade in less than a minute, but I enjoyed the numbers going up. I like the idea tho, and I got hooked just by the harvest user data concept haha

The concept of this game is interesting but the gameplay and graphics are a bit dull. And there is the bug for re buying upgrades. The idle idea for data harvesting could be pretty fun if it gets a bit of polish.

We also actually made a game about data harvesting, but we had a more literal take on it.

+ Nice Shop and upgrade ideas
+ Chill soundtrack
+ Nice visuals in the web! Like the particles
- Exiting the web: I dont get it. This also made me quit playing

A story would be really motivating/or enemies.

Very cool concept but the realisation is a bit scattered. If you can solve the problems other comments told you about, it would come out as a pretty chill game, one I can see people sink hours in without meaning to, just lost in the "one-more-harvest" mentality...

A valiant attempt and a really innovative concept

I ended up with WAY too much data than I could ever sell about 3 minutes in... and the upgrades to autosell didn't seem to make up for it! Still, had a lot of fun, I have an appreciation for a clicker game with an in depth system, just needs more balancing!

Great take on theme. I think it was a bit unbalanced and playing it was quite quick.
