Chloroblast by Phibian
It’s time to face off with dastardly pests in CHLOROBLAST!
PvZ’s Zen Garden meets Bloons Tower Defense in this self-titled ‘Flower Defense’, where you cultivate plants to face off against unwanted bugs!
Plant seeds in your flower pots by dragging and dropping their respective cards, then spend the Pollen accumulated from pests to grow them into beautiful verdant warriors!
You can then drag and drop them onto the field using LEFT CLICK, or alternatively, you can RIGHT CLICK to harvest your plants for gold! Gold can be used to permanently unlock new seed types and cultivate even more new plants!
Conquer the mighty boss pests and see how long you can hold out against the waves of enemies!

The game has a hands off tutorial approach where you discover the mechanics by exploring and clicking through things. Once you've figured out the mechanics of growing/selling and then placing your first plant, it will then send the first wave of critters. This is a great non-intrusive way to teach players if they didn't read the description.
It would be better if I could see the monster's health and the wave number of the level
Really liked the visual of the game and so many cool animations.
Really good background track and sound effects.
Can't believe this is done in 2 days
But I lost immediately on the first boss. Normally in TD games once a monster passes the boundaries and damages you, they come again back to the start, and you can readjust your tower placement. I didn't even have a chance for that. Also it would be nice if I could rearrange the plants, or at least remove them to place a new stronger one. I would also like to see the stats of each plant somehow to know how strong they are.
Great job overall, congrats!
It's one of the best games I've played so far, love the tower defense mechanics and I really like that you have to manage your plants in real time while dealing with enemies. Great job!
Bonus points for the biology pun in the title..
Congrats, great entry!
I really got into the vibe of building and selling and trying new plants. Excellent work. I just adore tower defense games.
Great entry!

You made lot of nice pixel art and great audio. You say it's "stupid homemade sound effects" but it's actually some of the best sound design I've seen this event; very "snappy" and satisfying.
The game itself is just your standard Flash-era tower defense, with a lot of extra clicking which I'm not a fan of. I like how plants have to grow for some time before you can use them, but click-mashing them just didn't feel good. Part of the appeal of TDs is getting to watch the sea of particles, and this game doesn't give you a lot of time and opportunity to do that, because your eyes are fixed at the flowerpots and there is hardly any rest time in between waves (a mistake I'm also guilty of).
The game is also too easy with every single wave failing to pass through the first meander, except for Godzilla who survived for a few seconds longer. I made an entire second line of defense and it ended up unused. There's way too much pollen (I had 1k+ at the end), so my APM and the flowerpots were my only bottlenecks. But balancing jam games is next to impossible so it's not a big deal. Those are just some caveats I had, but overall I had a good time playing the game, great job!
