Harvy Tile by Miolosh

[raw]
made by Miolosh for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

You are tasked to create the best farmland possible. Move the farmtiles together, which would make taking care of this lands easier for the farmer. Group tiles together and gain points and money to keep going. Try to get the highest score possible or try out the three levels.

The load times may take a while, since there was not a lot of time to optimize the game. There are three levels that load quickly. The freeform takes a while, since it plays in a random world.

You can move the camera with zsqd, wsda or the arrow keys. Click on the tile you want to move and click on a tile next to switch the tiles. As soon as two tiles of the same connect, those are locked.

R - Restart level / Escape - Main menu

When playing levels, to get to the next level, there is a small button under the goal. It became quite small in browser and you might overlook it.

Cute little game. I am pretty sure you could make a nice puzzle game with this base.
I feel the loading time and the tile-switching animation could be a bit faster.
Well done !

Ha, a hex game, just as mine :)
unfortunately I can't understand what I'm supposed to do in the first level. I've moved the cows together and that's it, no other tile can be moved anywhere, although the green & yellow tiles can be selected to be moved (but not moved). Is the game expecting me to do something else?

@lisyraus, you did it right. I was considering a pop-up for when you reached to goal. But to make players not get stuck on a level, I decided to just add a button at the bottom of the screen to go to the next level, even if you did not reach the goal. In browser this button became quite... small...

An interesting puzzle game with really great graphics. It's a little bit tricky, since the game doesn't tell you if you reached the goal.

Cool game! Love the art and music. It is fun to play, but perhaps there could be more challenges for the player such as completing the level in a limited number of moves. Great job!

Love the minimalist aesthetics on this game! The puzzles were fun but I had problems at the beginning until I found the little button on the bottom of the screen :D

I'll always be down for a hexagonal grid game! Good puzzles

Very addicting gameplay loop you've got there, congrats! The "Next Level" button is indeed quite small, but doesn't hurt the game! :D

Good little puzzle game. I like the minimalistic style. The float animation on the water tiles is a nice touch. The UI scaling could use a little fixing but it all works so nice job. The music and sound is also really nice!

Relaxing and very fun! I love how low-stress this game is. You can just sit back and enjoy the art and animated critters without worrying about getting stuck on a really difficult puzzle. I could legitimately see this selling pretty well on Steam if you polished the graphics and expanded the gameplay mechanics slightly. Reminds me of the best part of Islanders and Dorfromantik. Definitely keep working on this after the jam if you're enjoying it!

I love the visuals and the idea of grouping animals together. I feel calm from the game and I would like to see this as full game! I'd prefer the desktop variant rather than browser, because it the loading takes really much time and the UI is not visible :(

I really liked this game. A puzzle game chill with a fun ambient, I was expecting even more levels, I was on a speedrun but it is very interesting to see how we absolutely want to perform the best score. GGs

Cool puzzle game! Maybe a pop up would have been nice to confirm when you won the level. Aside from that, the art and music are great. Good job!

Very good game. You did great job here. Audio, art, idea are on the highest level. Would be even better if there was a tutorial, because I didn't understand some moments in the first few minutes. When I click on level 3 next level it shows me menu, but it's probably because it's the final level or I haven't achieved a goal. Awesome puzzle!

Very nice!

Just wanted to say how effective and perfect the sounds effects are. Both what you decided to put sound effects on, selecting a tile, the tile move sound, when tiles connect, etc. And also on the sound effects themselves, just all together really nice!

Lovely music as well!

It has good puzzle idea and I can answer to the challenge but I don't like how combined tiles could be locked and unswitchable.

Great puzzle design and execution! Always a fan of hexagonal tile games.

I can see why people thought that combined tiles becoming locked is unpleasant but I think it was a great design choice for a puzzle game like this. Well done!
