BEE A GOOD BEE: And Fetch Me Some Pollen by ahintoflime

This is my first Unity game. I have been making jam games in Godot for years now but this is my first time using Unity and C#. I wasn't able to do nearly what I thought I would be able to and had quite a rough time of it but by the end I was getting a hang of things.
The Music is by Trevor Moore (created for this game but he does not have an account here afaik)
Thanks to Manhole, 2ecatek and Hayden for helping me with random Unity/C# stuff!

I do wish that the camera didn't leave our little bee sprite so close to the north bound of the screen when he's flying upwards... a nice little run of 128 ended to a surprise flower :(
The music is a masterpiece :D
Congratulations for your courage to make a game in a different engine than usually.
Good job!
Great job for your first game on a new engine! Movements (bee+pollen) were super fluid and felt very natural. I loved the lightning and how the light shapes move.
I had trouble getting past ~80 pollens!
Only issue is when i restarted the game after lose, the flowers from the last game stayed and i was instantly attacked by dozens of them! I had to refresh the page after each death, which isn't a big deal honestly :)
@breadstick Oh man I screwed up the camera position at one point and never fixed it.... oops! Could do with being better centered and maybe slightly zooming out when moving fast.
@owca wow very high score!!
@amarokczukay yes I found that bug after uploading and was too exhausted to try and fix it LOL. sorry about that.
@jajakeim and @chompdev I'm a huge fan of Godot but the game I'm working on for a living as a 3D artist rn uses Unity so I'd figure I'd start my journey on getting familiar with it. I am still a Godot lover and I haven't "switched over" I'm just expanding my skillset :)
Visually simple yet effective.
The AI was simple enough to fool it into going in circles after me so that I could just gather their pollen forever, altho random spawning flowers would sometimes surprise me and I had to be ready to avoid them. Controls felt pretty good too!
The only suggestion I feel like giving would be to maybe have the pollen disappear after some time as to pressure you into getting it, thus forcing you into more risky situations.
A timer and a minimum needed pollen score before the end of the level (and a visible score count) would also have made it feel more complete.
Good work overall!
This is my score and I'm proud of it ^~^
Awesome game!
... And before I'd actually read that you need to refresh the page to not have the difficulty increase on each restart, I was thinking it was impossible because of the literal wall of flowers that was coming after me :D
One small suggestion would be to let the camera "look ahead" when you're moving maybe, as @breadstick already remarked, so that you see what you're about to fly into, that was one thing that was quite difficult to avoid :)
Or zooming out as you said already!
Neat game!
@profan oh hey there :D thanks for playin bud
