Harvest Merge by LoparPanda

[raw]
made by LoparPanda for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

You need to make some food for your family... from scratch! Start with sunlight and water and merge each element in a sequence until you get to harvest crops!

Inspired by a fusion of several puzzle games including 2048 and Wario's Woods, with an isometric twist.

Controls

( Move forward/backward, Rotate clockwise/counterclockwise ) WADS / Controller D-Pad

( Rotate board/minimap ) QE / Controller shoulder buttons

( Push Elements ) Spacebar / Controller right-bottom button (Playstation X, Xbox A, Nintendo B)

( Pull Elements ) Z / Controller right-left button (Playstation Square, Xbox X, Nintendo Y)

( Restart Game ) R / Controller Select button

Merge the same element together by pushing them together. Or, pull them backwards (as long as there's an open space behind you!)

You can climb up up to one cube at a time, just by walking on it.

Blocks will also merge together if two of the same block are on top of each other, whether you pushed them there or they spawned on their own!

I created all game assets myself (code, music, graphics, sounds) by hand during the jam.

Made with the Godot engine.

The above error seems to affect Firefox. With Chrome the game proceeded to loading, but unfortunately the browser becomes unresponsive. If you have time, consider uploading a binary build. It really looks worth playing!

Thank you, good call! I'm not sure why the web version would be unresponsive on Chrome (that's where I've tested it), but I uploading binaries onto itch that should work much better!

I was able to play on web. I really liked the art style, and the sound effects. Even after reading the instructions, I found the control scheme a little confusing. That said, I was still able to make some progress and had a good time. Well done :)

I had fun with this! I think it has a lot of potential! I would work on making movement a bit easier. Also, it might help if you make it a 5x5 grid instead of a 4x4. It seems like its easy to get stuck with a 4 by 4 grid.
