Froot Processor by Joel Davis
Froot Processor is a game about building a machine to process fruit from the harvest to convert it to the most valuable products.

Instructions
There are six rounds, before each round but the first you can build up to 3 machines that will direct the produce harvested to different buyers.
Place the machines cleverly to try to get the best score!
The Buyers
The buyers, from left to right, have different needs:

Round Events
Each round after the first has a "Special Event" that affects the scoring.

For example, in "Pumpkin Spice Season", all Pumpkin produced are worth double when scoring. Most events double one type of fruit but the Apple Season triples it.
Fruit Values
The base value of fruit is as follows: * Apple is worth 1 * Orange is worth 2 * Pumpkin is worth 3 * Strawberry is worth 4 * Watermelon is worth 5
Each Fancyfier raises the base value by one. E.g. An "Extra Fancy Pumpkin" is worth 5.
The Processors
You can build several different tiles to process the fruit:
- A Canner will can the fruit. Canning a baked good makes it no longer baked.
- A Manure Pile makes fruit Organic.
- A Clone Jar will make two identical copies of the fruit.
- A Blender converts fruit to smoothies. Smoothies are not baked.
- A Pieinator converts fruit to Baked Goods.
- A Fancyfier raises the base value of the fruit by +1. You can chain multiple fancifiers.
- A Sorter directs the fruit in whatever direction results in the most valuable final result.
Cleverly placing tiles, especially SORTERS, and choosing which column to drop the fruit in can result in combinations that greatly increase your score!
Once you understand the rules, a good goal to aim for is a score of 1000+. One playtester managed to get over 10k!

great game
High score: 188
In the end you get the most only focusing on two different types and abusing the duplicators.
Very good entry. Loved it.
Congrats on the jam :)
First I thought ... mmmh.
Then after learning the controls, I thought, nice.
Then I saw some random results.
On my second run I knew some of the workings, some of the customers and it was fun.
On my third run I really enjoyed improving the products!
Fun!
Feedback:
- Graphics: very nice
- Sound: ok
- Controls: solid, but sometimes felt a bit fiddly (as the Z and X are somehow strange)
- Icons for machines: well readable
- Changing from fruit to pie to shake to ... nice and well understandable
- I did not like that the customers/ shops were hidden when seeing the playfield, i.e. I always forgot what was where and what was rejected etc. I would have liked them to be shown all the time ... I know difficult on a Pico-8 screen
- Harvest theme: OK, kind of "post-harvest" what you did, but good!
- I love the naming of the products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Superfancy canned watermelon pie ... not sure if that exists, but the ones I saw were cool!
Congratulations!
