About our game jam

Experience the thrill of collaborative game development with a unique project challenge! Inspired by the Blackthornprod where multiple people work on the same project without any extra information, we decided to try it ourselves. Five of us took turns working on the game for 5 hours each, with a strict time limit of 25 hours. The first person was given a theme and started with an empty project. The rest of us followed suit, adding our ideas and innovations to the game. Despite the time constraint, we had a blast working on this project. We hope you enjoy the final result of our fun and challenging exercise!

About the Game

Get ready for an exciting and challenging farming adventure! As a farmer determined to bring in a successful harvest, you'll need to navigate through your neighbour's fields to gather as much wheat as possible before time runs out. But be careful - your neighbour and his trusty dog won't take kindly to your intrusion, and traps lie in wait to slow you down. Quickly gather the wheat with your harvester and race to your silo to unload your haul and add to your final score. And if you're not careful, you may need to repair your harvester in the garage. Can you outwit your neighbour and come out on top in this thrilling farming game?

First of all, the graphics were absolutely stunning, and the music was enjoyable, if a bit repetitive at times. The damage effects on the harvester added an extra level of immersion, and the strange lighting change, while a bit odd, did help me to keep track of my character's health status. The "you died" sound effect was a particularly nice touch, as it reminded me of the game "Papers, Please" and added an extra layer of emotion to the experience.

While I did enjoy the gameplay, I must admit that I found the time limit to be a bit of a challenge. I couldn't help but wish that there was a way to extend it, even if it was just by a little bit. That being said, I understand that you imposed a 5 hour time limit on yourselves as developers, and I think you did an amazing job given that constraint

Managed to score 6246. I really enyoed this one. Only downside is that the traps are hard to see.

So wait, we were harvesting the crops of some random guy?! Haha poor farmer, we stole all of his stuff. Pretty good entry! Some small things you could improve would be the antialiasing on the crops, it sort of hurt to look at them and the clarity regarding the mines. It took me a few deaths before i figured out what was happening.

Reminds me of a retro farming sim, very fun. Couldn't really tell where I was getting hit by though.

I don't think I can really play this game until I know why I'm taking damage. It's not the dude with the shotgun, it just seems to be happening at random. I checked the itch page and saw that it mentioned booby traps, which makes sense. Except, even after knowing there were traps, I still couldn't see them! I leaned into my screen to try and spot them and still couldn't. I don't know if it's a bug, or if they actually are meant to be invisible.

The tag-team collaboration thing is pretty neat. We did it in the Quake mapmaking community and it was a lot of fun. Maybe I'll try it in a future game jam.

My best is 6631. You guys probably had a good time working on this the way you did. It would have been great if the terrain had some sort of random generation or anything like this ! This is a nice entry anyway.

I really like this game, took me a wnile to understand why my tractor was exploding but then i saw the red dots xD, i like the simple ideia too, my best was 6545 but i think it would be better if we had something more to do, or maybe a new map with random generation

Very fun and hilarious! Nice graphics and good controls on the tractor. Would be nice to have more levels though or more stuff to do

The idea is straightforward but implementation really nice. I felt some "GTA Mission" vibes :) And mines are really annoying. They are hard to notice. And sometime "too late to notice". Maybe some kind of emergency brake will help.

Awesome, I like that you did a 5 devs inspired jam, I bet that was a lot of fun! The game looks great and is fun. There's a tonne going on, the combine harvester feels fun to drive, the farmer and dog have good ai, there are some nice particle fx, and the gathering and depositing feel pretty satisfying. The mines thrown in there add another layer to the gameplay, that maybe could have made my game a bit more fun too. I did find it a little difficult to see the mines though and also it might be nice to add a little warning to say when the time is nearly up. Great job guys!

That's a cool game. The combine feels really good to drive. I like how small your own field is :D Good job!
