Great idea packaged in a great build. Very impressive for a game built in 2 days, always a pleasure to see these types of games where every gameplay generates a different personalized result. If there's anything I would add is more information on every extension, I understand that the arrow expands the plant, but why?

I would be glad to continue playing this game after the jam, so much potential!

Very good for a game JAM, not easy to make mechanics done very well!
The feel, the rain, music and the wind together made it feel very polished.

Really enjoyed it! The simplicity is what makes it great. Got 15 harvests after doing a couple of rounds.
Well done!

Fun gameplay. Nice style. Like the mood. The options on the branches are pretty clear to understand. I would've like a little bit more explanation on the differences of growing the branch, making leaves and fruits. But overall pretty solid.

Really cool. Was a bit confusing to figure out when you could build or not but once i understood that it made sense. Really clever tradeoffs between expanding vs harvesting. Nice evocative mood and music too.

@salmonmoose Sorry for the inconvenience, discovered too late that Firefox does not understand this particular function :/

@Anonymous the single arrow is kind of pointless. Originally I planned to have light rays so there would be an incentive to grow in a specific direction, but I ended up with simple system where two leaves in a row produce less, so the single arrow can at least be used to avoid this.

Beautifully crafted game! I don't completely understand how it works, but I have a rough feel for it and I managed to get to 13.

I didn't really get what to do during the first game, but the second game was enjoyable. Good job!

Note: the link didn't work in Firefox for me, had to switch to Chrome.

@rrsmtz I hate tutorials in games and think learning how to play is part of the fun. Sorry about Firefox, found out after the deadline that it doesn't understand "roundRect" (a very sophisticated command that draws a rectangle with rounded corners).

I find the concept really well though-out. It was pretty fun trying a few different starting strategies for maximizing yield.

Good job on making a game using purely the canvas & plain javascript as well! I do find it funny that you ended up having a compatibility issue on Firefox when you probably have one of the most 'platform-agnostic' games in this entire jam...

Love the concept.

I had some bugs in 2 games in a row, the timer at the bottom would stay empty and not fill up (google chrome).

Apart from the bugs the concept is insanely cool. It would have been reaaally cool to be able to select the option through keyboard shortcuts.

Congrats!

- Fun little game.
- Didn't expect to have a limit for the branches.
- I expected fruits to be more fruity – now it looks like a Close Button (red with the cross)
- Probably making it into a larger game with enless grow could be a nice idea.

@feor Thank you!! haha oh the irony. Tbh it would be easy to fix but it would also be against the rules (I assume), going to wait with that until after the rating.

@arscene Thank you! Not a bug, while fruit are growing, it drains energy (the bar on the bottom is not a timer). Once the fruit is ripe, this stops, until you harvest and new fruit is grown. Still thinking about how to make this clearer without putting labels on things

@danmerey Thanks, all valid points. Also was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out, will consider making a more polished version when the rating is over!

It took me a while to get this game. I didn't click for me that leaves increase your growth rate while growing fruit will consume it. I had to read through some of the other comments to get the fruit part, but the leaf part alluded me for longer than I care to admit. Once it clicked the strategy became more clear and it was bit more fun. I get the hesitance around having a full on tutorial, but there probably is a graceful way to teach the player the mechanics as before it clicked for me it actually was a bit frustrating to play.

The music and sfx were great and set a great mellow mood which suited the minimalist game feel. I could see a longer timed mode or even endless mode being quite zen to play. Overall I'd say this is a pretty solid little game that just needs some improvement with the introductory experience to be great.

I like how different this game is. Quite chill to play, just growing the tree. I didn't mind the lack of tutorial - suits the minimalism and it was fun to figure it out.

The gentle rain and mood is really nice, it fits with the minimalistic graphics too. Cool mechanics, simple but there's so much variety. It's also easy to understand, but hard to master it and has a lot of replay value. You did so many things right here, really good work!

Came back to this game after watching someone play it on stream, and I did much better this time. Here's my new high score (and I definitely think 41 or 42 is possible with some better micro):

Other than a bug that caused me to have to refresh after every game in order to play (Brave) this was a simple well-rounded and fun game. I could see this being fun on mobile.

Nice job!

@lone-wolf Not bad for a human ;) Bug is probably due to audio reloading, I hastily slapped that in at the very end. Thanks for the kind words, Will consider polishing it after the rating period and make it work on mobile.

Really love the concept and I think the execution is also done really well, especially considering you probably made a lot of things from scratch. It's really interesting to see how the few building blocks available can be combined into a more complex structure. Great job!

Thanks for submitting your game on the stream!

Really interesting game mechanics, tried coming back to it again but couldn't beat my score from stream of 25

Might be a nice idea to be able to view your tree after the game ends too?

Took a bit of time to understand the interface, but I really liked the execution of the theme. Mechanically tight and an interesting little puzzle. Great work!
