Help our clumsy octopus plant his garden! You plant seeds when dashing (spacebar), and by touching them with one of your arms, you make them grow until you finally harvest them. Different flowers have different effects when harvested, and they can trigger each other harvests as well!

The entire game is made with Unitys custom circle and square sprites.

Thank you for playing, and let me know what you think!

I love the art in this game, and the overall look and vibe! I found it a little bit difficult to control, but it's satisfying to get big combos

@maymay Thank you! Yeah the movement is really sluggish and slow in the webbuild for some reason. Not sure what caused it.

lol pretty neat game

I had trouble connecting to the seeds sometimes, and I wasn't sure if w/s was working at first since the guy moves so slow

I also flew off the screen by accident, whoops

Interesting concept! I love procedural animation of the octopus, it feels so cool to drift with it :)

Very cute little game. Took me a minute to figure out what I was suppost to be doing, but thats mostly because I have such a short attention span I don't ever read the instructions lol. But once I figured it out it was pretty easy. I do wish that there was some sort of border to keep the squid buddy from flying out of the bounds of the screen and become lost, but other than that I really liked the game. Also your sound effect was really good. Nice work!

You can press play twice to spawn a second octo buddy!
Spamming spacebar and rotating for huge combos is extremely satisfying. Just wish there was more to the sea you could explore. Nice work!

Cool game, visuals are cute. The start is a bit slow but when the screen has a lot of flowers in it the challenge to move around is fun.

fun to play and intuitive. took quite long to set-up the stage though imo. the octopus moves quite slowly.

Being able to combo things is pretty cool. Losing my squid to the edge of the screen when I panic space bar is a bit frustrating though.

Thank you for this, was fun. The octopus controller feels really nice to use — there is a, for me, enjoyable learning curve to it. As you get better with the controller you become able to do combos and control all of your octopus arms. I also quite like how the squid interacts with the different objects, it feels intuitive and fun. It took me perhaps a couple of play-throughs to understand exactly what the object do which seems reasonable. Like others, losing the octopus at the edge of the screen is the main friction I experienced playing — perhaps some kind of physical force repelling you slightly from the edges could be nice to have if you where to continue developing the game.

@kenneth-dd @phlip45 @resevoir @jonqs The octopus for some reason feels really laggy and quite uncontrollable in the webversion, I have no idea why. And I actually have walls on the corners but again, they seem to work sometimes.
Big lesson I learned is to test out the web version in the browser instead of the game engine next time.

Thank you for the feedback!

Cool game, Same problem like the others have mentioned - the octopus disappearing behind the screen. The art is very simple and very cute. I likes how the legs interacted with the plants. Sound effect for swimming was fun. Some ambient water sounds/music would have been a good addition.

I lose my octopus, it went out of the screen. Good game!

Cute little submission with nice, simple graphics. I found the controls a bit difficult, but that just might be me not liking tank controls in general.

Interesting concept of a risky harvest (red and blue flowers)!

Really liked the animations!

Nice polished graphics! The explosions looked nice and were very satisfying to chain together. The game is pretty soothing to play. I agree with others' feedback that the controls felt a bit sluggish but on the other hand it made it more challenging which was nice.

Ive got 188 is this near WorldRecord?! :P Great Concept! Awesome Tentacle Movement! (Our main character has a tentacle too, check it out) Why didn't you make walls left and right?! Was it on purpose?! :D Good instruction screen as well!

Nice game, very satifying to swim around and see all the things getting harvested. That is until you get stuck in your own... err... _"leftover egglings"_ :joy:

I really like how you manage to make each Ludum Dare entry with minimal art, but still make it look very pleasing. The polish is also superb. Now you only to add some upgrades, puzzle-like levels and it will be rather nice zen-like game.

My only concern though, that regular non-space movement should be a little stronger? Or at least the turn rate. Currently it's very easy to make mess on the screen, and get eaten/exploded.

Yeah... Not much more ideas on what to comment  More various spawnable items maybe? Oh, or some kind of corridor, and you have to spawn exploding blobs to advance, while avoiding eels..
