DESCRIPTION:

Very poor and very tired of being single, you set out for your day with one goal: change both of those things, no matter the cost!!

CONTENT WARNINGS:

suggestive language

violence

gore

HOW TO PLAY:

CLICK - advance text / select choice / select items in harvest

KNOWN BUGS NOT FIXED FOR THE JAM:

  1. The web build often doesn't play some SFX. Dunno why.
  2. Uhhhh, there might be some sprite placements that aren't right. Sorry! We ran out of time to QA last minute changes.
  3. The point and click can be a bit buggy with what goes off where. It's mostly because I drew the art assets like an idiot <3
  4. I also left in the wrong instructions in game. Whoopsie!

This is very polished and well written, I had a good time! It's a bit long, but I think I'll go back to it to see more endings. I would have been nice to have an option to speed up or skip the read text to make the subsequent playthroughs faster.

!> YOOOOOOO WHAT IS THIS I SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING (ADMITTEDLY IT WAS IN THE DESCRIPTION AND SOME DIALOG)

!> IT WAS SO CUTE IN THE BEGINNING TOO, BUT THIS IS SO COOL. The visuals and the writing are so well done!! Only complaint is that it lags a bit in the web version, but that's probably the fault of the engine.

I really like the concept and the art is really cool. The camera cuts and character reactions are so good. I will say the dialogue was really loud compared to the music.

My guy ditched me after 2 days (T⌓T). I dhould have picked another one.
I love the art style, so smooth! Music is also great! Sometimes the SFX are too loud tho.
I love that the game is so complete too!

Beautiful graphics and great mood! A bit too small a choice of answers, but I know it is game jam. Good work!

Interesting story xD Dating sims are not really my cup of tea, but nice touch with the organ harvesting! Nice graphics and art, the slight swaying of the camera is a great touch. Good writing and cool characters, great job!

I had fun with this, but got a little confused at the harvesting section. (The first time I didn't even realize I could click things other than text.) I also was a bit unsure how to get some of the organs. I think a note for instructions there could be helpful.

I really liked the personalities of some of the guys though. I felt bad harvesting them :smiling_imp:

Poor guys! I enjoyed the harvesting most, wonder what happens to all the organs I kept...

Love the art! And a very interesting story as well. The gameplay is simple, which is great. I would have loved to have more options on my answers, and I wonder what happens to all the other organs I harvested.

I like there was more interactivity than usual with the harvest gameplay. I also wonder what happens to the extra organs I got. The art was really good and the mood was on point. Great game

I LOOVED this game!! This was so cool!! The art is amazing, the writing is fabulous and the music set the mood so well. :^D I love your take on the theme and want to play through this more to see all the dialogue options. I would love a sequel or expansion for this game!! Maybe a client face reveal??? Overall great job! Thanks for making an awesome game.

This was such a creative take on the "harvest" theme. Art looks great, its so funny and interesting, and very "fleshed" out for a game jam. Love it :)

So glad I found this on itch and didn't read the page rather than here. I fully didn't see it coming. Brilliant! While I'm personally not a huge fan of these sort of choose your own adventure games, I think it was a very creative interpretation of the theme, and over a very well executed game. Thank you!

This was- uh- WHY ARE ALL VISUAL NOVELS IN LD52 ABOUT FUN LITTLE THINGS, AND THEN TURN DARK IMMEDIATELY UPON LOADING THE GAME?!

jesus this game is brilliant.

Who would've though that your grandparents were the REAL villains, trashing Jun's looks behind his back.

Can't believe you've made an entire, polished visual novel for Ludum Dare with multiple endings. This is so impressive - everything from character visuals, their story and different expressions, to the backgrounds, music and mini-game. A neat take on the theme too!

Well-written story in 72h! Love the graphics and mood, the transition from datings to harvesting is a bit weird (I'm like what why did I kill this guy and harvest his organs). Great game!

Wow, I got here from itch.io's LD suggestions & I looked at 0 screenshots so I super wasn't prepared despite the obvious title lol. The harvesting was viscerally unpleasant lol, I was so uncomfortable, great job!

Disappointed there's no flavortext ending for harvesting all 3 boys. I was trying to get Mr. Collector's affections since that's the vibes the main character was putting down :'(

Also I kept having a weird error that kept filling up the entire screen on the web build every time I clicked a dialogue option lol, then I accidentally highlighted the text of the error and it was even harder to ignore :sob:
![mspaint_oWD7mc0T37.jpg](///raw/0af/e1/z/563df.jpg)
luckily it disappeared/reset every time the NPCs spoke or i waited a few moments but boy when the main character has like 3 or so dialogue choices in a row and i'm a quick reader, it built up a lot lol!

@papabirb that web build error is a known issue with renpy in certain browsers/if ur in incognito mode -- i forgot to add it to the list this time around, whoopsie

@robobarbie Oh I mean I got the smooch ending first lol, it just felt weird going back to the main menu after the dialogue compared to the epilogues with the other boys. Less closure for me while playing, although it felt cinematically fine watching someone's video in the comments now that i've been away from it a few hours.

Very interesting take on the theme, I love that!

That was a very pleasant experience. Conversations are very well written, music is great (especially when you go into harvesting mode), all the characters look cute and original (especially the Boss, I wish there was a dating segment with him). And I haven't seen dating sim where you play as an organ harvester, props for that

I was like: a dating visual novel, cool, but light on the theme

What a stylish, incredibly polished and beautifully dark game! I really enjoyed it, I loved the cutesy music and aesthetic crossed with the casually morbid content. A real quality submission!

This was actually one of my favorites to play, I was sad when it was over. It seemed to end quite abruptly. I harvested all of the organs every time.

Other than some text that appears in the html version (which is to expect some bugs and stuff with little time) I like pretty much all about it, writting, the art, chara design, music is nice. Very polished and very creative idea, have probably not seen a organ harvesting dating sim ever either like one of the others mentioned. And there is some very very pretty backgrounds!

Personally I liked the sinister track quite a bit and the edgy dude in the alleyway. The convos with him were entertaining and a bit funny.

Too bad it was so short, cause it left me wanting it to be longer.
But then one got a lot of options to play with to get some different outcomes which adds to play time.
Only so much one can do during a weekend and considering that it was on the longer side.

Great work, and looking forward to seeing what is to come of future entries C:

I liked this a lot, and that's impressive coming from not the biggest visual novel fan! The presentation of the game is really lovely, the slight sway, the text, the shifting background and pixelated transitions, it added a lot of movement into what was otherwise a very still scene. Similarly I love the art, it was so gorgeous. And Dante :eyes: ... shame he's an asshole. The audio fit the game really well, it was sinister but also sweet in a really interesting way. The writing was really funny and genuinely I had such a great time interacting with all the characters (dated Jun harvested the others, he was just too sweet I couldn't bring myself). Having to actually harvest the organs as well was a nice touch, it would have been really easy just to fade to black but having that interaction really elevated it. My only main complaint, other than it being too short, was that when harvesting it wasn't quite clear that I had to put the tool down before picking up another, I was worried I had soft-locked the game the first time. Overall this was polished but fun, and different enough from most visual novels to have such a clear identity, nice work!

Ohhh really really cool game! Did not expect a dating sim like this for a Harvest jam but it worked so well!
Loved the art, the concept and the twist of harvesting your date (or well, twist-ish as its implied a bit with the theme 😂)

My main issue right now is that a lot of the time there is only a single dialogue option, and I think you cant 'lose' your harvest. Maybe you could have the player select the correct options and if they get x amount correct they can choose to harvest/date?

Great job!

I loved that! Interesting story, nice visuals and musics.

The organ harvesting part was confusing, though, I couldn't manage harvesting anything. I couldn't find the correct tools to harvest.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is kind of like two games in one, and one that I'm definitely excited to play multiple times.... I absolutely LOVED the transition of the theme (spoiler) from major to minor, so well executed, probably the first game I've given 5 stars for audio <333 But also the writing, the characters, the backgrounds, the camera shake, the organ minigame... All so on point, amazing accomplishment of a jam!!! Great job. I think my only nit-pick is that I wish it was easier to put tools down / switch between tools, but that's really all I can think of. Excited to play again and see how it could play out differently! Thanks so much for making and sharing this game!!
