made by DevDelver for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

Take control your own ship and mine for precious materials in space. Destroy asteroids, collect their materials, and return to base to gain new upgrades. Your material meter at the top will let you know how much you material you still need for an upgrade and will count how many upgrades are waiting for when you return. Be sure to keep an eye on your fuel in the lower left. If that gets used up, you will be left stranded. Your fuel will refill whenever you return to base.

As for controlling your ship, you can rotate it using the A and D keys and can apply the thrusters with the W key. The weapons can be fired with a simple click of the Right Mouse Button. If you ever need to take a brake from the mission or abandon it, ECS will bring up the Pause Menu.

I wish you luck, hope you have a good time, and I am grateful for any feedback you'd be willing to share. This project will be continued to be updated beyond the Game Jam, so your suggestions can really help guide the future direction of it.

It's pretty cool overall and the progression seems fair, but the one hit death is kind of unfair and doesn't give the motivation to restart the game, maybe the inclusions of rare and definitive upgrades could be cool.

But it's a great job, well done.

Fair enough. I was considering making some shield or extra life upgrades, but was running short on time. I'll look into added those in the next update. I was also considering making some rarer upgrades that can grant new abilities.

Awesome concept, very satisfying to destroy the asteroids. Really like the progression options. I also verbally said "oh shit" when an asteroid flew across screen going light speed and killed me instantly lol. Great job!

Like the building on the basics of Asteroids! It was a litle confusing what bits where materials to me at first, a UI element that shows what they look like would be helpful (but I figured it out!). I ran out of fuel so I didn't do too well but I liked it! The rotation speed is annoyingly slow, though, I'd speed that up a bit. If you were trying to go for realism, spin boosters or something would assist that. Otherwise, I liked it!

An interesting take on Asteroid for sure. I like the collecting resources and upgrade mechanic. The controls on the ship are a bit clunky to start out and as others have said the one hit death makes it pretty undesirable to start over.

Cool take on the theme! I felt the rotation speed of the craft was a bit slow, and that kinda hampered further stuff in the game. I didn't get a lot of the cool moments of zipping around asteroids that the speed of some of the asteroids seemed to suggest would be cool.

I got a little sad when I died after one asteroid hit, but still a great game ^^

An interesting game, but I would have liked it if the turning speed was faster.
