Little Dudes Planting Stuff so They Don't get Eaten by klianc09

Run around and explore the world, find food or grow it yourself.
You are tasked with keeping the monster trapped, this can only be achieved by keeping its appetite at bay. Feed it whatever it demands or land on the plate yourself. However, its hunger grows ever stronger, and will never be satisfied.
You are allowed to fail one delivery.
Pick up water and throw it at plants to make them grow faster.
If you find a summoning site (pentagram on the floor), you can make sacrifices of the item it requests, to receive helping hands. (You need to use the "Plant" action when near it).
Helpers will follow you and will carry items for you, however they need to eat too.
Paths often traveled turn into roads that allow for quicker movement.
Controls
controller recommended
Keyboard: Arrowkeys + XCV
alternate: WASD + JKL
ESC to restart when dead
Actions
Pick Up - pick up the closest item to you OR pick up a water drop while standing in water
Throw - throw the currently held item
Plant - plant the current item (if it's a seed or potato) OR sacrifice the current item at a summoning site
About Development
As an additional challenge tried to make a game that fits every theme of the final voting round (got about 8 out of 16).
No sound effects, no particles, no polish. Getting it done took already long enough.

having things to discover in the world is also very fun, even if it's just one main thing in this case :)
It took me some time to learn the controls (keyboard) but then again YEETING a carrot away was really funny
The xcv-keys felt a little arbitrary and I always confused them.
I know you did say "controller recommended" and I'm not sure if this would apply as much if you were using an analog stick to more around but I did have a little trouble with moving too quickly on well-trodden roads with the keyboard.
I really liked this game, it makes me want to play a more polished version! Good job!
