Farmer Rabbit's Wild Ride

Dear Farmer Rabbit,

An Evil Veg-Romancer has taken over the kingdom with their army of necro-crops. We believe their next target is your carrot patch.

Good Luck, it's Harvesting Time.

Carrots are spawning faster than you can harvest them from the carrot patches in your garden. All you can do it throw trowels at them. Try to harvest as many as you can!

Tips:

  • Carrots have a small chance to drop a power-up that will increase your fire-rate for a short amount of time!

I got a high score of only 95, lol. Shooting carrots is very satisfying

I love the graphics and feel of it!

Had fun playing. The game did lag a little once I had a lot of carrots on screen. Different power-ups would have been nice and some more variety in the enemies. The graphics were really nice and I really digged the art-style.

Nice 3D look! I enjoyed the zombie/survival like gameplay. Would have loved to get stronger or improve weapons

That was fun, a nice little core loop and enjoyed the chaos of the mess of things getting all overt the screen. Really liked the design of the evil carrots too. Really made me want some more types of upgrades to keep playing. Nice work getting this done and in!

Thanks @bloodfin ! I wish I had a little more time to get some upgrades in for sure, I really tried to scope small so that I could actually finish this time!

Thanks @surfa ! For sure with the lag. I neglected performance and cranked out some spaghetti to get the job done :)

Fun little project! I like the attack boost and the steady difficulty curve. The low-poly 3D style all fits together well, and the ability to weave around the berry bushes and funnel enemies through there was a nice touch. Great work getting this finished!

Interesting control scheme and angle, I had a good time shooting carrots. Nice 3D work too, and good sound effects.

Good work, I enjoyed this. I did find a way to cheese it a little and ended up getting 266 xD my only gripe is that fullscreen doesn't work properly, but thats itch thing

I love the song! Together with the graphics (and tilting cam) it gives a slick feel.

The gameplay itself seems a bit simple, but maybe I just didn't go far enough. Are there any pickups other than the bullet-burst (lighting) one? I found myself missing a heart pickup (because if low on health, you _would_ risk going for a health-pickup, when with any other there's less choice in a sense).

Also like the puns... would have gone for 'ne-crops' myself, but I can see that this would maybe not scan to people less used to wordplay.

Love the graphics and the theme. The environment is really good and the character models are fun. The music is fitting but could be a little bit louder imo.

I think the game feel is a little bit off though. Defeating enemies feels really weak and the trowels themselves don't feel very impactful. I also found the controls a little bit more floaty than I'd like. I think some beefier sound effects, some more animations and particles, and maybe half as much momentum would make the game a lot more fun.

I also agree that more variety powerups would be good, or even ways to permanently become more powerful, since it would give the game more sense of progression.

Fun game! Wish maybe the firing was controlled by arrow keys. Also wish it was more obvious that it's not possible to walk over the carrot beds even though the carrots can :') giving them a serious advantage!
I enjoyed playing it quite a lot.

That was a nice little game! Very limited feature set, but everything that is there, works very solid.

Enjoyed this! Interesting that the power ups don't last very long, but that power you get briefly from picking up a couple lightning bolts feels really great! Cool to see a game with an acoustic soundtrack, I think the guitar maybe could've been a little bit more in tune but maybe this was an intentional sound, either way I think the arrangement fits the game and mood well. Great job!

Enjoyable game! I liked the emergent dynamic of rationing out the dropped powerups, and I actually really liked the graphics and the way the camera moves around. I wish the map or spawn rates were tweaked a little bit somehow so that you could make more use of the map features, because I feel like it was mostly best to stay in the center so as to not get surrounded or cornered and that meant not interacting with e.g. the berry bushes at all. (Maybe I'm missing out on the pro-level tactics though.)

Pretty consistent little game, the little particle effects when you shot a trowel at a carrotperson were pretty cute, but solid entry and everything feels like it was working as intended :)

Though the game definitely becomes kind of impossible past a certain point as more and more of them spawn and even with the powerups, you quickly become overwhelmed by the mass of carrots :eyes:

Cool game! Few notes: hitboxes for buffs could be a bit bigger, it would be awesome to see the score all the time on the screen. Besides that, well done!
