Cultist Garden by GreenRadiation
If you are going to play through the web version, turn on a full-screen
In this game you will take on the role of a cult worshipper of an ancient harvest deity. Collect and distribute food, make sacrifices, keep the deity's spirits up, and try to survive in this harsh world.

Pick plants in the right order to get food or the grace of the gods!

Gratitude will help you gather more plants, but don't lower it too low - the punishment of the gods can have a very unpleasant effect on your cult.

The game has 3 endings.
P.S. If you download the Windows version, it will be more stable

The art is fantastic as well. Thanks for uploading that concept art- it's really interesting to see that. I was surprised that this wasn't assets because the art looked so good. The art, lore, and audio combined make for just a great presentation overall.
The post does mention that the offline version is more stable, so maybe this only affects the online one, but the moon stopped changing for me. I didn't end up knowing how much time I had left. I wish I could have clicked the cards more often, too. I'm sure that's an intentional design choice to avoid people from click spamming. But, personally, I think I would have preferred being able to click more often but in exchange having less time before distributing food again.
I could totally seeing this expanded upon and being a game I would definitely get :)
It took me a couple plays to get how to play it for some reason. It's possible I got some boards that didn't have a full sequence in them or something else weird was happening, but regardless it came together eventually and was a lot of fun to play!
Really impressive work here, I think it could be iterated on and released commercially. Well done!
Gameplay I like how you incorporated extra features into a simple memory puzzle and really made it a part of the story.
I think the card flips could be a bit faster though.
The animations and delays between flipping cards were very long and frustrated me when playing the game. Also at the start of a round there is the time for the cultist "show cards" power even when I didn't power them, and it had no feedback that it was in progress or that it was done. I think adding more responsiveness and reducing dead time would improve the game feel a lot.
I enjoyed the strategic element between rounds and had to make some tough decisions (sorry Joseph!). I managed to hold on with 2 dudes. I couldn't get my devotion any higher than 115 as it decayed as much as I added to it between rounds, and then I turned my other guy into a plant. Really nice job!
Thank you very much for the feedback! Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to edit and polish the gameplay, so the delays between moves slowed down the game a bit. Also, due to time constraints, we had to abandon the already implemented features, as we did not have time to fix them - for example, cultists could get sick and their abilities were inactive until they were fully fed for a month to be cured.
About game: Very atmospheric game. I feel like some sound feedback would be nice.
Game is fun and nice brain teaser and I LOVE the art.
Good job!
The second and third cards from the original set were a bit too similar to easily tell them apart.
The game tends to feel unresponsive, I'm constantly clicking on cards or the reward popup, but due to some internal timer I cant click that yet which is quite frustrating.
Your web link is broken.
UPD: I uploaded the game directly to the ludum - everything should work (better include a full screen)
Tho I suck at this xD.
Great job!
