Don't Stop The Beet by Wrong Timeline

[raw]
made by Wrong Timeline for Ludum Dare 52 (JAM)

It's harvest day ! But getting all your fruits and vegetables by hand is boring. Let's add a beet... I mean, a beat to it and suddenly work becomes more fun !

Reminds me of Vib Ribbon! Which is no bad thing. I couldn't seem to nail the timing - on the basic tutorial it helped to tick the box but then I had to untick it again to get any points on the beet drop level. Still, I had a good time. The music is good, which is essential for a game like this. Well done!

I am so bad in this game. But it was a nice game. The music is quite nice.

Nice game, and the "Checkbox Bugfix" is quite considerable!
Congrats for your project o/

Very unique take on the rhythm game genre and nicely fit to the theme! Unfortunately I'm really bad at this and it was very difficult for me to judge why I'm off on certain "beets". Btw great punny name :)

Collecting berries is satisfying.

A good idea! Some problems with the rhythm indicator which, I believe, is not very well placed on the UI. Good game anyway! And fun :)

Rhythmic harvesting, now that's something you don't see everyday. Graphics is nice, but I can't judge the gameplay, because I have no sense of rhythm.

I like the rhythm approach! It was a bit confusing to get the rhythm right at first even in the tutorial but i figured it out

Your tunes are top notch! For some reason I had a little trouble keeping up with the rhythm, not quite sure if I was following the tune or following the character's movements, my brain couldn't turn around. But this game is so much fun! It's also very on-topic. If the characters and rhythms are more refined I think it's a complete game! Looking forward to subsequent updates and more tracks!

I'm terrible at beat games but it's fun to harvest with rhythm.

Nice rhythm game! I found it a little bit unforgiving and unsure about timing. I really liked the carrot :)

Hehe I might be a bit biased because we also went the route of making a rhythm game but this is so awesome! I am seriously dissapointed it doesn't have more ratings. Everything about it is funny and catchy and really the only thing I would maybe consider tweaking would be to rethink the position of each feature on the screen. Somehow I found that beet-ween (haaa) looking at the rhythm indicator and cheching out the arrows my eyes just went all over the place too slowly for some parts of the song. Regardless, it was really fun to play!

Quite a fun idea for the theme! I found the timing on the "triple action" moves pretty unforgiving compared to the single ones for some reason -- I could easily nail most of the level, but I couldn't figure out how to hit those ones consistently. Also the half-beat thing was strange because the character moving and the button presses are half a beat apart, so no matter which way I had it set it felt like something was happening on the offbeats. Maybe having the character move forward half the distance twice as often would make it feel a little better.

Nitpicks aside, the art is really cute, the gameplay works well, and I liked the flavor of the different elements and how they led to the different arrow presses. Well done!

Not very good at this, but it was a lot of fun! Great music, of course - really got me bopping along :) I wasn't really paying attention to the beat circle though, maybe this could be implemented differently to make it a bit easier? The graphics also worked really well, they're simple but very clear and work so well together - along with the music, it creates a really nice mood for the game.
