A fair bit of fun, though the RNG can result in a strong fluctuation of difficulty

This is a cool game with many cogs turning and affecting each other! Great idea! This works very good for mobile maybe?
I feel like the job assignment for the crew could be changed a bit. Maybe a sort of table view or drag and drop?
Keep it up, this is a cool game!

fun game! really like managing the multiple pirates and fighting the other ships. main menu music really set the tone and the sound of the sea adds a nice feeling to the sailing.

Loved it! was a lot of fun, loved your leaderboard setup, what did you use for it? I was going to implement them for my own game but ran out of time.

What a fantastic little game! The tutorial was extra impressive. Does the 'gold' do anything? I played for around 20 minutes, but didn't get further than increasingly complex setups with 3 pirates.

@sirlich Gold is only your points now we talked about some roguelite element but did not get to implementing it.

@leyamez My companion @WouterK12 fixed that part he did an amazing job.

@jpbaraky Thx my inner programmer art person will keep this comment close <3

@tosmaster It works on mobile through itch page. But i get it we started with a clicking pirates around the ship setup but changed it to this more simple version because it would let everything fit in one page of info.

thx all for playing :)

Thank you all for the positive feedback! We really enjoyed making it :)

@leyamez Thanks! This API keeps track of the high scores: https://github.com/WouterK12/High-Score-API
Unity communicates with it via UnityWebRequest. To make it work on itch.io, the NGINX server accepts all cross origin requests and returns status 200 for every OPTIONS request :D

Hi there, good take on FTL-style game  Like to play for a while, but feels a little bit repetitive to me, tbh. Plus moving pips from room to room causing a lot of unnecessary clicking (imho).

But a HUGE respect for the tutorial you've done, it's really good one, explaining all mechanics beforehand!

Pretty fun management game! And additional points for the pirates - everything is better with pirates  You could totally expand on this by adding more crew in time, allowing for upgrades and ramping the challenge. I was totally in the zone while playing. Great job!

This is such a complete experience it almost feels like a demoversion of a full fledged rouglike or something. The art and sound was really good too. Sadly the leaderboard didn't work form me :( would have loved to see if my score was actually good or not. And a very small nitpick it, maybe in the roleselection of the crew show which role is on the left or right of the current one, i often got lost in where to find the correct station. But other than that this was really fun to play.

Really nice, I thought I did somewhat decent with 900, then I went to the leaderboard and saw a 22000..and with 9 rating received I'm not even in the top 6 ahahha. Very nice idea, and good execution, loved the tutorial, it was definitely needed and made the overall experience much better. One thing I didn't like much was the sequentiality of moving into different areas of the ship. I guess that was desired for increased difficulty but it was a bit frustrating when I knew where I wanted to go but went the wrong way and perhaps even overshot in a rush, all while taking damage.

What a really well done game with a ton of polish for a game jam (tutorial, leaderboard, etc)! The core gameloop is solid and with continued work could become a great full game! Keep on making games

So, first of all: is there a reason the "forward" button on the tutorial boxes makes you go BACK? I appreciate that there *is* an option to go back and forth through the tutorial, but the way the arrow's pointing makes it look like "continue" and not "back." (That said, forcing the player to play through an encounter with a single pirate is a bad joke!)

This game gives me flashbacks to FTL (a game I haven't played in *far* too long), but the clumsy interface makes surviving encounters a chore. Even with a full contingent of pirates, I'm stuck rapidly clicking back and forth between options trying to keep from sinking while also warding off whatever disaster my ship had gotten itself in. I think maybe that if the game had a smoother interface for assigning pirates to jobs, this game would be worth a few plays, but as it stands I got to my first island and hung up my sailing hat for good.

FTL-light (pun intended) =) great adaptation, simple but usefull UI and good pace. There were some problems with sectors order. i just clicked slowly to find what i needed and in the middle of the fight it was a little frustrating. But overall - a nice entry!

This was an cool spin on "delivery" theme. reminded me a bit of FTL: Faster Than Light. I think the crew assignment could smoother (Just the arrow keys was a bit annoying at times), but other than that this is a solid game!

I found this game to be quite enjoyable. The tutorial was clear and helpful, which made it easy to get into the gameplay. The art style and overall atmosphere of the game also added to the experience.

Really fun management game, like others said it reminds me of FTL in some ways. I could see this idea being expanded into an FTL-like pirate game! My biggest complaint is the UX for crew management - I wish I could drag my crew around the ship, instead of toggling through the various roles. I know the game is balanced for that, but I really struggled to internalize which roles were in which order. If I could drag pirates to parts of the ship (maybe with some travel time?), I think that would be a much more enjoyable experience.

Still, I had a great time, and I'm surprised by the detailed tutorial you folks managed to put together. Awesome job!
