https://sprig.land/ld53-submit
Your ship is the last hope to run the blockade and deliver critical food supplies to the magical green dock!
Avoid getting sunk by the evil defense towers, and maybe return fire as well!
GOAL: Reach the green dock! 🟩
CHROME BROWSER: Only works in Chrome browser right now (due to WebGPU), sorry! All other browsers are still working on implementing WebGPU rn.
CONTROLS: - “SHIFT” to sprint! (Sorry i should have made that default) - "e" to get on/off rudder and cannons - rudder: W/S to adjust sail speed - rudder: A/D to adjust direction - cannon: WASD to aim - cannon: L-click to shoot
This game was made by two friends in our own from scratch engine, Sprig, including all the graphics, physics, and gameplay management. Our engine is open source with the eventual goal of become the world's friendliest 3D game maker. Follow our journey at: https://twitter.com/sprigland

PERFORMANCE: If you have performance issues, plz let me know ur cpu+gpu! Data is super helpful. "~" will bring up a console to tell you ur FPS. As a mitigation, you can shrink your browser window to lower the resolution 😅
KNOWN ISSUES: - Sometimes you get stuck on the rudder or cannon. Moving the rudder or the cannon to a neutral position will often get you unstuck. So sorry!
thanks for playing!

The sailing was slow and deliberate, which feels very grounded and nice. The cannons were also slow, but this felt frustrating - I'd have preferred them to move a lot faster. Maybe you still want/need the precision, so adding a "sprint" might give the best of both worlds.
This was really impressive already, then I read this is on your own engine... that's fantastic! Best of luck with it
I really liked the destructible environment and the art style of the game, I think the game would be perfect in terms of art if instead of an empty horizon there were tall mountains with occasional greenery on it, giving it a Caribbean vibe.
I also really like that the towers could destroy each other!
I think it would be good if the player moved a little quicker and if you could rotate the sail to match with the wind!
There is a little bug when shooting a destroyed tower after its been destroyed creates destruction effect again even though no tower is visible (after collecting the delivery)
Overall great game and well done!

The ship does get destroyed pretty quickly, maybe a way to repair to last longer would help? Keep up the work on the custom engine!
