Galaxy Express by Jiri Hysek

Welcome to Galaxy Express!
You are new employee of Galaxy Express. A delivery service that delivers where no one would ever dare. You can imagine there is not exactly a rush for the position of delivery driver. Galaxy Express delivers all over the galaxy but you are in the branch that takes care of the Vogsphere. Yes. The Vogon planet. But don't worry, in order to reduce employee fluctuation, Galaxy Express decided to use unmanned drones for this planet to avoid Vogon poetry hazards. Drones poses an electromagnetic grip so you can get metal, indestructible delivery packages from a small distance.
About the game
It's something you'd expect for this theme. You deliver packages. But you are driving a cool insect-like drone and there is a destructible environment in the game. The Galaxy Express is paid for delivery only. So the package must be delivered at all costs, nothing else matters.
*Warning: * In a highly improbable case, you may not be familiar with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. If that's the case you may miss a subtle humor in this game, I'll recommend reading the book or at least watching a movie first :)
Controls
- Drone control - arrows or WASD (gamepads probably too, didn't test it)
- Electromagnet - space
- Restart level - R
Tools
- Godot engine
- Inkscape & Gimp
- Bandlab.com & beepbox.co
- Audacity & sfxr.me
Post jam updates
Since the rating period is over, I have done a couple of small fixes: - Receiving device is indestructible now. Destroying it wasn't part of the game mechanics and it led only to frustration. - Removed decorative crate - it led to confusion and it actually worked as a real one because of a forgotten default value

Nice game! I enjoyed the clever use of the 'tractor beam'(?) to move boxes through walls. Nice game!
Nice use of the magnet mechanic to drive stuff out of their hidden places. Overall a solid entry.
But after 10 minutes, I still can't figure out how could I beat one of the levels. It's the first one with the gnome box. I don't know what the silver box is for and how could I get the cyan box from that deep cave. I guess these two facts must be related to each other. :D (beaming through walls doesn't seem to be enough in this case. :\ )
Can't wait to continue playing it, cheers! :)
I really loved the mechanics, not complicated, but fun. The physics and controls felt super great and satisfying. Level design was good too, sometimes a bit hard, but nothing too bad I think. (I remember some of your older games were much harder haha!).
As for me, one of the most polished games I've played so far.
And when I saw my kids playing it today, they came up with a solution that made me smile. They were able to make a hole from the bottom. They released a mine, then quickly caught it, and flew with unarmed mine as close to the box as possible. When it exploded, a box fell down on the top of the drone. They slide to the side, the box fell and they caught it in the air. Very creative :)
Can't wait to play your game, I already watched (or listened mostly) the stream where you were making it so I had some fun with it already :)
Here's my playthrough:

The tractor beam felt really good, the sound and graphic quality were great. Super impressed.
Also, the extra jab when I tried to hit escape. I love games with little easter eggs like that
Also, I'm always happy when someone finds my easter eggs! There are a few more subtle things like that for example when you try to fly out of the area. There is also a sort of internal easter egg that a few people around understand. I had a dream about a week before this LD and in the dream, LD already started and the theme was "gnomes". So I hid a gnome into the game :) And a couple of people who knew did the same! So if you by some accident run into a game with a gnome reference in it, it could be related :)

Good luck on your ratings, see you next LD! :D

And btw. that last level you get into - intended solution is to bomb your way from the right side but destroying blocks from the bottom is viable too (and quite creative, didn't think about it during designing the level:) So you almost had it. And there was only one more level left.
