30-second Deliveries by Sebastian-M
Welcome to your first day at 30-seconds Deliveries!
We are the fastest delivery company in the world. We achieved impressive speeds with our revolutionary transportation system. High-tech trucks? Drones? Nope. A human canon! We installed one on the roof of each building, so wherever you are you can just shoot yourself to the next delivery target.
As the name implies, you will only have 30 seconds to do your delivery, I'm sure you can do it. Actually, you probably can do it on less time with the human canon and all. Any extra time you can save for the next delivery, and you will need it since the time for each delivery goes down as the days continues.
CONTROLS:
- The canon has its own control panel, just experiment with it
- WASD to run the rest of the way when you eventually under or overshoot.
Tips and tricks:
- Make sure hardware acceleration is ON on your browser, it will run like a potato without it
- It is always better to undershoot than overshoot
- If you reach the limit of the Yaw slider, move it to the other side
- The first delivery is the hardest, if you get unlucky with the RNG just retry
- JUST SEND IT!
Footnotes
- My high score is 10 deliveries. Let me know yours!
- The game doesn't adjust well to wide screens. I'm sorry about that
- Opt-out of graphics since I'm using an asset packs for the city
- Also sorry for the general lack of polish. My skills with Unity were really rusty before this jam

I only managed 5 deliveries as my record, it seemed that unlucky rng can mean that the landscape can obscure the destination, making it hard to aim the later deliveries. Perhaps mouse controls for the cannon would have made it a bit faster to "reorient" yourself between deliveries.
I enjoyed the music, it matched the frantic gameplay well.
Interesting game, it was fun to see an innovative idea for the method of locomotion for deliveries.
A few recommendations: You could use arrows that you click and hold to aim the cannon, with a few different speeds. Besides not having the fit all 360 degrees in the slider this would also allow you to continue spinning it the same direction, I ran into a situation where I wanted to rotate more the left but I was at the end of the slider so I had to move it all the way to the other side. And the pitch slider would have been good to be vertical.
I would also generally caution against using words like yaw and pitch. For a game jam like this it's fine, most of us know what that means and they aren't super uncommon words to begin with but if you publish a full game using words like that a good chunk of your audience won't know what that means.
The whole game was well done. If I had to recommend the next steps I would suggest making running more interesting - adding ledges, steps, and jumps so you have to do a little pathfinding.
I'd also suggest building the city on an island with insta-kill/insta-reset water on the outside to deliver the overshoot penalty immediately, instead of forcing the player to spend a few seconds doing a boring run in a straight line. Hopefully, that wouldn't affect your game when played well, but would make beginners lives a bit easier.
I played 3 runs and managed to get 11 deliveries in my last one!
