Parcel Madness: The Last Delivery by Grocek

[raw]
made by Grocek for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

It's Friday evening, you work as a courier for a large courier company. You were about to go home and rest after a long day, when you got a phone call from your boss. He said he has one last assignment for you today. As it turned out, you have to deliver the package to a secluded cabin in the woods, or else you will lose your job.

With no other choice, you agree.

Parcel Madness is simple 2D platformer, where your only weapon and tool is the package you have to deliver. Use it as good as you can to defeat your opponents and avoid traps. A fun platformer! I like the mechanic of throwing and having to retrieve your weapon! I had a few problems with responsiveness so couldn't play in full-screen mode, though! Good job :)

Love the black and white! Classic. Pretty cute lil game, had some issues with the box clipping through the floor and having to go back through the level and I thought the throw was a bit strong - might be nice to have a mechanic where you can hold throw to charge it up?

Love the black and white pixel art style! I had some issues with the controls and the box not responding as I expected. Sometimes it would fly across the screen and sometimes it would set down right next to me and clip through the floor where I just came from. Very cute game.

We had this idea while brainstorming, great to see it executed! The change in movement from when you're holding the package and not is a really good idea that mixes up the gameplay.

Really like the mechanics. It's fun how you move faster when you don't have the box. I think adding an arrow where you'll throw the box could make it a little clearer. Otherwise, cool game!

Nice little platformer! Heads up for other players, I had to adjust the zoom in my browser to get levels to display properly, at 100% the edges of the level were cut off.

Nice plateformer, hard challenges but good controls, so it's ok. Got stuck behind what seems like an breakable wall because my parcel disapeared through the ground. Like the oldschool mood of it! Good work!

I'm a sucker for binary art. I think it looks really great and I liked the retro styled SFX. Not too hard to navigate either. Good job!

I really like the art stlyle - very charming! For my personal tasty, the controls feel a bit too floaty and the throwing confused me a bit - I didn't know I needed to use the mouse. But overall this is a fun little game!

Some of the controls felt a little weird to me and I think some of the hitboxes were a bit broken on my playthrough. The box clipped through the ground at one point. Other than that it was a nice experience and I liked the character controller a lot, all the core platformer features and it changed based if you were holding the box. A nice platformer with a cool aesthetic

I keep loosing the parcel whereto I don't want it (through textures and stuff). If fixed, this one is quite interesting, despite being simple. Still very fun!

It's a great idea! I didn't realize at first that the box goes towards your mouse, so I thought throwing was bugged. It's a bit hard to control between the throw direction and the player's speed, but it's an enjoyable platformer and I'd love to see you polish and balance it later!

I got stuck due to an inability to throw the box on the second floor of the second room. It just kept setting the box down next to me.
