I try to play, but I think it misses information. I found bonneveau, but never found steindorf, nor the pilgrims stucked. I think I go on every point on the map, and even when entering a village (except bonneveau) I never knew where I was.
The routes you could go seemed very limited though, and resources were a too limited for any reasonable exploration.
The placeable map markers didn't seem to be useful for anything.
That being said wow you've packed a lot of nodes and branching dialogue into this jam :speech_balloon: :exclamation: Like seriously branching dialogue for almost every node, with variations on what happens when you say different things, or have different dialogue if you've visited another node. Very well fleshed out game for a jam game. Excellent job!
I really like the mechanic of describing a quest but leaving it to the player to remember; I can figure out which town is Twin Pines Town and which is Lake Town or Mining Town just by looking at the map.
In its current state, it seems like the best strategy is to replay it a lot, and probably the story suffers when I know what all of the outcomes are. But the mood is great, the pixel graphics do a lot without needing to be high-fidelity.
PS: Found a bug at the inn, where you can't get the letter, if you got it in a previous run and restarted through the dialog, maybe you forget to reset a variable? ;)
