Solid game! I can tell a lot of love went into the stork's flying animations, and the sound design is great too. Couple notes about gameplay:

-Losing the baby every time you shoot AND every time you get hit feels cruel
-The game says you must defeat the required number of enemies, but that number is never shown
-Enemy hitboxes seem to be all over the place sometimes, which draws attention to the stun lock duration being bit high

Overall a very solid game, great work.

Man, I didn't expect a full side scroller shoot em up in this jam :D

Controls are lovely, a bit floaty but not too floaty to feel unfair (and, I mean, your character is literally floating.) The graphics are fantastic, the enemies were nice and combat felt nice. I agree that losing the baby every time you were hit was punishing, perhaps a three hit system would be better fitted here. Other than that I have nothing to complain about.

Cool game, is it possible to kill the seals?

Very nice combat mechanics and play on the theme. The intro sequence was also quite well done. Good entry!

@nuin yes they just have a bit more HP, usually a Stork Bolt and a few basic attacks should do it :)

Great job on this! I loved the art style, the music, and overall concept. It did end up getting a bit monotonous after not too long though. I didn't know how to use the stork blast at first, I don't remember seeing any instructions on it and just started hitting every key on my keyboard until it shot. Because of that the first stage to the second had a massive difficulty increase but after I figured out the stork blast it just ended up trivializing everything.

@asilvers thanks for the feedback! Sorry, I believe the stork bolt control was in the tutorial (I know the instructions go by kinda quick). I just updated the description to include the controls!

Very fun side shooter with the added mechanic of not dropping the baby, had a lot of fun!!! The story part after the tutorial was weird tho... 10/10 👍

This is a really engaging twist on a shmup, really keeps you playing on your toes like a delicate balancing act. I like the stork folklore as a double-twist on the jam theme too, and it's used really well.

I like it overall, especially the bouncing dinosaur birds.

Confusing how you lose the baby when you shoot. Also, why do I have to shoot? why can't I just dodge and deliver the baby?
Is there a way to deliver the baby? That's the theme...

this surprised me.

very good art and mood, I like that the story is being told in as you fly.

btw minor thing, for a left handed it is kinda hard to stop WASD to press space

again very good art and mood

these whales kept killing me

Great job! I particularly liked how well the bird sprite fit the actions it was doing and how you were moving. Really well polished game :)

Very lovely aesthetic! Gameplay loop was really cool and I liked the shoot em up combined with the juggling. Made for some tense moments! Awesome entry!

I really liked the art style - really creative use of pallet and shapes. The music was nice, if a bit repetitive. I found the story a bit long and unnecessary - it would be nice to be able to skip it. The game crashed for me at the end of the second level.

This game is really creative! Although I am worried that the baby being transported may vomit in the swaddle along the way haha (just kidding), overall, the game design is really great. The background music is also very good and enhances the atmosphere of the game. The development team did a great job, and I look forward to seeing more works from them!

I like it very much! The beautiful art and music create an amazing cozy mood. The gameplay is very engaging and it got me hooked for quite some time. But it felt a bit over-engineered, or rather, the mechanics stumbled on each other. I always found myself not having dash to dodge, because I always had to use it on the baby to get it back. I like the general idea, that while using one mechanic you can't use another. But I understand that it's a very difficult idea to tweak, at all, and especially during a game jam, so this is very impressive. Good job!

Nice game, good pixel art. The gameplay concept is a bit like those plane levels from fff. There are several abilities, which gives variety. And nice music playing in the background. Didn't encounter any bugs. I give a like)

Nice entry!

I wish it was a bit longer and went a bit crazier! Not that it was too easy or anything, but it would have been fun if there were twice as many opponents on the screen only for the satisfaction of throwing the bolt attack :D

I loved your attention to detail, with the speed of the wings of the character, and it's so cool that you have this small story implemented!

Good on the music!

You got some good ideas there. Those game mecanics were great.

The second level was really hard. Had to retry few times.

And like the others already said, the game looks really good and the music is perfect. Good job !
