Carriers by paulhocker
Carriers: Delivery Of Influence
During World War I and World War II, carrier pigeons were used to transport messages back to their home coop behind the lines. When they landed, wires in the coop would sound a bell or buzzer and a soldier of the Signal Corps would know a message had arrived. The soldier would go to the coop, remove the message from the canister, and send it to its destination by telegraph, field phone, or personal messenger.
Instructions
This is a pigeon message delivery simulator. Your goal is to reach 100% influence by getting paid to complete contracts with your carrier pigeons. If you take too long to accept a contract it will expire which will negatively impact your influence. There is a good chance that your pigeons will not survive the trip back, which will also negatively impact your influence. Successful deliver will have a positive influence.
You must also manage the resources in the game by keep track of the total number of pigeons you have as well as making sure they have enough food and shelter. Even though the population will increase slowly, it is easier to purchase additional pigeons in the shop if you need some to fulfill a contract. The shop will also let you purchase additional coops and lofts for your brood to expand. Don't forget to buy more food while you are there too.
I hope you have fun playing.

History
- v1.1 Fixed bug that would cause creash on replay. Removed the "helper" template in the UI. (oops)

having abit of a narrative in the beginning about the carrier pigeons was golden, would be cool to a jingle of the bells on the wire mentioned (and maybe something to indicate there's a new contract available)
overall a fun vibe! thanks!
Mood is on point and pigeons are always a plus for me.
The visuals and gameplay loop feel disconnected to me. I think having the number of pigeons on-screen increase and decrease to be in proportion to the pigeons listed underneath Intel would be nice, even if it is 1 pigeon on screen for every 5 or 10 pigeons in the statistics, whether the ones sent on missions fly or fade away, either would help show how accepting a contract sends away pigeons, which are your main resource.
Making hyperlinks clickable in the credits is a clever idea, how did you do it in Godot?
From the second time I figured out how to properly allocate resources, the game seemed pretty easy. Until the end, there was no point in purchasing food, since more than half remained.
The button to close the window is too far), the first time I was looking for it for a long time))
Balance wise I think I can level some point: So pigeons cost 25 for 10, and each mission gives an upfront and a success reward. There's no reason to do a very difficult mission that requires 60 pigeons and the upfront reward is only 10. Your pigeons probably won't come back making the success reward worthless largely regardless of what it is. On the flip side a very difficult mission that pays the full cost of pigeons upfront is always worth taking as the risk is removed.
As for other criticisms, i had no idea which batch of pigeons was returning when they returned which makes that portion feel really detached. Also I felt that each tick was like half a second longer then they needed to be, not sure how to describe that.
The music was pretty good.

I feel balancing for Ludum Dare is impossible, as some people want to play casual games while others like challenging nearly impossible to beat games.
Hooray! My pigeons are super pigeons :) we proved that the British pigeon is superior to the German pigeon :D The whole game was a lovely experience. My only criticism might be that it was a little too easy. At one point I had too many pigeons but I didnt observe any negative effect.
But hey its LD :D I enjoyed what you produced and I think you have a good core for a game you could develop further into something really solid for the mobile marketplace!
gg good game definitely 5/5 mood
getting the appropriate upgrades. The art is simple and the music is appropriate for the gameplay,
overall I enjoyed playing, keep it up!
