Got stuck in the final area, not quite sure how to get passed

@ollie-d where did you get stuck?

@FoggyDude Check image. Played it back to get there. Also to even cross those pits I had to noclip into the floor, not sure if that was intended haha.

@ollie-d noclipping definetly wasn't the plan

I like the idea, but I kept on getting bugged on the ladder, most of the time I tried climbing a vertical ladder I'd start limbing down from the top (which is particularly painful with the time-limited ladders), instead of climbing up as intented. I also enjoyed your visual style.

This is a creative puzzle game. The music makes me feel very relaxed.

Cool game. I thought the walking across/climbing ladder animations were quite nicely done. Though after the first two levels, I fully understood how to use the ladder and the game started feeling a little bit repetitive. But still the ice parts were kinda exciting.

Such a clever and sweet game - Not sure if it was intentional, but climbing DOWN ladders, once you've climbed up got me laughing for minutes straight. Also, there IS something suspicious about Bill and Will  An innovative and true take on the theme, with a lot of incorporated elements and even a narrative! Wonderful job!

Cool game and nice with an idea which goes a little outside the norms. It was a little weird that I seemed unable to pick up the deliveries. He just kept saying - I already got you your stuff. Any pointers?

@purpledartfrog Weird, it's supposed to say that only after you gave people their stuff and then you go to the next level.

@foggydude That's quite okay - I got the gist of it

Well done, the mechanic is a good idea, the complexity increases a bit, the idea of the ice is interesting but it becomes a bit of an agility game rather than a puzzle game.

I have to say that my car flipped over after the jump and my character went through the ground. I had to redo this part of the level which was a bit long.

At the end the game tells me 12 minutes which is for me the perfect balance for a LD-jam game.

The climbing animation make me laught

Good game, but has a few bugs. Cleared Bill's level by noclipping through the floor, and I wasn't able to finish the game because the long ladder got stuck and I couldn't take it back. Sometimes it can be pretty inconsistent when a ladder can be retrieved or climbed, and I suspect it's some floating point error with physics that stops the ladder from reaching a complete stop. Overall, a really good experience for a jam game, feels really complete.

It took me quite a while to work out I could right click the plank to retrieve/destroy it. I liked the puzzles and weirdly I prefered having the planks destroy themselves after a set amount of time. That meant I didn't have to do it myself with the mouse! I got very close to the end I think (The Finish Line, going up the two steps on the far left after riding Will's cart). Unfortunately I got my plank stuck a step above where I was and couldn't right click it 😢

The graphics were proper oldschool and the music and minimal sfx suited them and the game in general.

Congrats on your entry! 👏🏻

Gotta love the physics of this game. There was even a moment at the last level where the ladder fell down the ice stairs and when I climbed the ladder that was standing vertically he just breaks the laws of gravity and walks on it like it was nothing.

Anyways. The ladder destroying was pretty annoying. I think that the auto destruction mechanic is better for that.

Such a cute idea, I really had a lot of fun with it! and I actually burst out laughing when I saw the delivery guy scrab-doodle like an animal along a vertical board the first time!

If the game were just a little faster I think you could have a great framework on your hands, awesome job!

This is a really clever idea. The mechanics are unique, and the animations made me laugh. I really enjoyed it and played all the way through.

I really enjoyed the main mechanics! The climbing animation was giving weird body-horror which I strangely enjoyed.

One feedback I commonly give is that the text-printing animation feels like neat polish, but I've found in player interviews that most people (myself included) find it a bit tedious having to wait for text to finish writing. If you're going to add it, it should be a setting you can turn off or add the ability to skip/load.

Also, I don't know if you made this for the compo (because it's technically fair game to have it premade), but your loading animations were tight. The "Made for LD53" especially.

Nice unique gameplay and cheeky dialog. I beat it in 9 minutes! It took me a second to figure out how the ladder was supposed to work but I think it did work out well. Good entry!

i liked the puzzles but i struggled with the ladder. i like the mechanic, I think it's novel because i can't think of any games with ladder puzzles like these!
