Nice game! Too me longer than I'd like to admit to understand the trigger for the key, but it was hinted in the messages
Incredible background quality.
Music is cool asweel, and in the theme of the game.
Don't know if it is intended but in the last sequence you can easily be stuck in a room if you don't go directly to the exit, which is a bit fustrating.

Pretty creepy game! I lave the art and the music they work so well to set the atmosphere and the writing sends it over the top. Excelent job. Altough I did die well I was reading the note at the end. Which made me sad.

@donamougou thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah! The final sequence is about get out the house as fast as possible or die haha (is also to prevent a bug sploit)

@tinykidtoo thank you for the feedback! I may put the girl to walk only when stop reading in the next update.

Nice short game. Good use of background graphics and music to make a spooky atmosphere. Packages could still be interacted with after they were picked up, and you could temporarily stop the ghost by reopening them.
🎤 Sevla
02. May 2023 · 07:04 UTC
@milkwine Thank you for your feedback! The packages indeed can be interacted again, they just don't show the sprite (and we had no time + low experience enough to make a silhouette or something to indicate that). And, if you pick it again, it will also stop the ghost while you're reading (i made this update right after a feedback about dying while reading the last package)

Understandable mechanics and a achieve to convey a very spooky atmosphere! The graphics are also super appealing. Very well done!

It already took me some time in the first room to understand you could use the stairs. Making the elements you can interact with stand out a bit more by adding thicker lines or something similar would have helped me I think

Nice mood in this thriller game. I was expecting some point&click vibes, but the interaction was simpler with obvious things to pickup. Was short enough to be replaied. Well done.

Very spoopy! I'm not sure what happened but after triggering the broken mirror, I wandered around a bit looking for the 'KEY', including in the attic (found nothing). The next time I was back at the mirror, it had repaired itself. After that, I think I was on the way back to the attic again when I got a black screen lock with music still in the background. Not sure what happened.

I died! And enjoyed it.
Music & graphics altogether are sooo spooky 👻

Missed a way to return to the main menu to see memo information controls again (I did not read about running and blame me dying on it :))
And when I wanted to printscreen "you died" face, it disappeared too soon

We also made a spooky quest game, totally different vibe from yours, interested what you'd say!

I love the characters! I feel like the main character should be a little more nervous though, he acts like he's on a leisurely stroll through.. I dunno, the grocery store? He don't seem to be afraid at all!

Edit: I forgot I could run! ahhh-

I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. I hope you enjoy my dumb commentary!

The gameplay felt a bit like trial and error. It wasn't clear at first how to navigate the house, or what rooms are where, so the gameplay mostly felt like a matter of just trying every room in order until the ending.

The music was atmospheric and matched the game well, though.

It is interesting. Initially, I thought that it was an ok-ish game. Then I realized that I really wanted to get out there alive :D Thanks for the game! I am still a bit unsure on the delivery theme in this game. Oh and the music really adds a lot to the game!

I enjoyed the scene art and the concept. The sounds made it feel really creepy as well. I would have to agree that navigating the house took a little bit to figure out, but I think adding indicators or something would help with the guidance. I feel it was also a bit awkward using the "e" key to interact, and maybe a change to using the "space" key may feel a little more natural. I am impressed with what you all were able to accomplish in a weekend!

The game was alright, the notes were written as if something incredible was about to be revealed to me but i wasn't particularly scared or surprised. I would say the graphics were the best part, but they were just copy-pasted from a website.

@blue-pin-studio thank you for your feedback. In fact we had more ideas than time to realize them all. And we also used some free assets only for the background, which is something allowed by ludum dare, but all the other graphical elements were hand-drawn by one of our members who is just starting to learn and has just had her first experience creating games. We were very happy with the result and I am very proud of her :)

+ I feel like there was no need for a run button as that should have been a default speed.
+ It would be nice to have intractable objects highlighted, I was just running around spamming e.
+ I got the key, and maybe I didn't understand but it seemed to imply "leave or continue" and then the girl spawned and killed me.

Hey, I love this idea!

Nice choice of music, some more unexplained random SFX might have added to the creepy mood ( Especially, footstep sounds : they increase the feeling of loneliness and isolation)

All like @ellaris here: walk speed, spamming the E key, and dying without really understanding why.
A little bit too unforgiving, maybe?

(BTW incidently, I made a similar game for t he compo! ( but with very different technological choices :D ) if you like exploring hand-drawn creepy houses, you might want to give it a try!)

Kudos for the creepy-little-girl flashing animation, this is spot-on !

As someone who hate screamer but still really love creepy ambience, I find this game really cool! The music works so much with the appearances of the girl, I had a start the first time I saw her haha!

But I was quickly used to see her, so I could finish the game. Good job, that was a good experience!

Nice little creepy game!

I liked the visuals, although there could be a hint as to which places are interactable. I spent some time walking around in the first room wondering where to go, it wasn't very clear that I should go into the stairs, maybe if there wasn't furniture in front of it.

The audio helps on setting the mood of the game. It really feels eerie, and the short glimpses of the ghost are cool.

The gameplay works but I felt running was a bit too slow, didn't really feel like running from a ghost. The bad ending could be a bit more... gloomy or scary I guess, it lacks the impact of an evil entity.

Congratulations on setting a nice atmosphere!

Also, I laughed at the portuguese text on the good ending. Foi bem inesperado.

This is the first legit spooky game I've seen this jam! I'm so glad someone made one! The visuals are really good and the controls are super simple too! Also the music and creepy sound effects really spooked me too!

The atmosphere was really nice, however I want to point out that the rules of the jam include the following :
"opting out of the Graphics or Audio categories if yours isn’t original."

I am not sure whether your audio is original, but I see you credited another creator for the background assets (only visible on itch), which make up a lot of the game's overall feeling, final product and feedback you're receiving. I personally felt fooled when I realized it, and many people seem to assume that all assets are yours judging from the feedback, so I would advise you to opt-out of the categories in this case.

Otherwise nice entry, definitely felt creepy!

Pretty nice game. Clean and creepy art style, game felt very smooth and simple to play. I enjoyed exploring the house, figuring out which room lead where and solving the clues. I think I'd happily play more just to be immersed in the world longer as I found the graphics and sound to be quite relaxing. Would be nice in a full version for a larger house or town to explore and some interesting puzzles or mysteries to solve.

Creepy (in a good way)! I don't think I've ever played a horror game from a game jam so this was refreshing. It's hard for me to describe the feeling, but it had me anticipating something, so I wanted to keep going to see how it ended
